Elimination of “Baluchistan” a Stupid Act

Criticizing the ‘efforts to eliminate the name of Baluchistan’ from the Iranian map, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid urged on the necessity of ethnic communities’ respect and rights in Chabahar, Baluchistan, on Oct. 21, 2016.
The web portal of the office of the Friday Imam of Sunnis in Zahedan reported, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid alluded to some moves to marginalize and eliminate the title of Baluchistan from official documents and papers and said, “The beauty of Iran is with the ethnic communities and diversity in religious and ethnical communities. All of these communities who have roots in Iran are pride of it. Their respect should be protected.”
“It is clear some that there are efforts to sideline ‘Baluchistan’. Removing Baluchistan is not in accordance with the interests of anyone. Baluch is one of the respectable and prominent ethnic communities in Iran. Baluchistan a part of history and it will remain forever. Sidelining the name of Baluchistan is an incorrect and stupid act of ignorant people,” he underlined.
Declaring the national and provincial authorities ‘opponents of sidelining Baluchistan’, the rector of Darululoom Zahedan said, “Those who want to sideline ‘Baluchistan’ are ignorant friends who proclaim to love Iran, but this act is enmity with Iran in fact. Not only ‘Baluchistan’ but sidelining of any ethnic region like Kurdistan, Azerbaijan, Loristan, Fars and etc. is a silly act. The traditions, customs, language and culture of ethnic communities should be protected.”
Concluding his points, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid called on the officials, especially the security authorities, should be sensitive over such movements and stop these provocative issues.
