The prominent Baloch Islamic scholar, Mufti Ihtishamulhaq Asia-Abadi and his son Molwi Shabbir-Ahmad have been assassinated in the evening of Sunday 24th July, 2016 in Kech district of Balochistan, Pakistan. The incident made all political and social circles in the region angry and grieved who showed strong reactions.
Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid, the eminent Islamic scholar in Iranian Balochistan, expressed his views on the late Mufti Ihtishamulhaq in the Grand Makki Masjid as well as in a meeting with the teachers of Darululoom Zahedan. He said:
Mawlana Ihtishamulhaq Asia-Abadi was a very meritorious, nobleman, warmhearted, thoughtful and energetic man. His existence was very beneficial for the region and a source for blessing. He was a bridge between people and authorities. He was seeking the truth and reached to it, too. He was really worthy of martyrdom.
Mawlana Asia-Abadi was a sympathetic man; in his last trip to Zahedan he was crying like a child and saying Christian missionaries have been diverting his people to Christianity. He was asking for support, guidance and sympathy.
The martyrdom of this great scholar is a big loss for the Islamic society. May Allah make his martyrdom the cause of people’s guidance, vigilance of Ulama and the good end of all of us. Apparently, the assassins of this Godly scholar are the enemies of Islam and Shari’ah who wanted to stop his activities.
We salute them in the beginning of the new academic year of Madrassahs asking the Almighty for their forgiveness.
