Dereliction in Enjoining Good, Forbidding Evil Caused Sins’ Spread

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid expressed his deep concerns on the spread of sins in society in his latest Friday sermon of July 29, 2016 and termed ‘dereliction in enjoining good and forbidding wrong’ its reason.
Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan began his speech by the Noble Qur’anic verse: «لَوْلَا يَنْهَاهُمُ الرَّبَّانِيُّونَ وَالْأَحْبَارُ عَنْ قَوْلِهِمُ الْإِثْمَ وَأَكْلِهِمُ السُّحْتَ لَبِئْسَ مَا كَانُوا يَصْنَعُونَ» and said, “Unfortunately different kinds of misdeeds and sins have been prevalent in the society, country and province. Some ignorant culprits who are away from humanity kidnap people and rob.”
“Some Muslims supply and use narcotics and alcoholic drinks by their own money and expenses. There are people who rob and steal cars of others. While these acts are sins and vice which carry out the anger of the Almighty. Robbers do not deserve mercy, rather they should be introduced to the judiciary for trial and punishment,” he added more.
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid underlined, “Sins destroy and frustrate nations. If you see many Muslim countries in turmoil, it is the effect of misdeeds and negligence. All should be vigilant. It is a shame for any Muslim to not establish prayers.”
Pointing out to the reasons of spreading sins in the society, the rector of Darululoom Zahedan said, “Negligence about Allah, grave and accountability on the Judgment Day is one of the main reasons of spreading sins. The other cause is abandonment of the duty of enjoining good and forbidding wrong. There are some people in the Islamic society who commit sins without any shame and feeling of loneliness, while it is against the Shari’ah.”
“Carrying out the duty of enjoining good and forbidding wrong is the duty of all Muslims not only Ulama and activists of Tablighi Jamaa’t. Every Muslim should call others to good and forbid from bad as much as s/he can. But forbidding physically is the responsibility of the Muslim ruler.”
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid concluded his points by saying, “It is the religious duty of all Muslims to forbid people from wrong and bad acts encouraging them to carry out good deeds. All of us should imitate the commands of Shari’ah and defend them, too.”
