Sacrilege of Sunnis’ Sanctities in Tehran

Unfortunately, once again the sanctities of the Sunni Muslims have been subjected to sacrilege in Iran. This time the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them, were offended in the official tribune of the Friday prayers in Tehran.
“Ayatollah Movahhedi Kermani”, the interim Friday Imam of Tehran, who has been appointed by the Supreme Leader, has said in his speech of April 22, 2016 “Talha and Zubair were ignoramus Muslims!” Calling the great companions of the prophet, peace be upon him, with such humiliating words in the official tribune of Friday prayers, that has been named the capital of the Muslim world, is in contrast with the slogans of unity.
Talha and Zubair, may Allah be pleased with them, are among the most influential and knowledgeable companions of the Last Messenger of Allah. Sunni Muslims unanimously consider them among the ten companions who were given the glad tidings of entering the Paradise in this world. They were also among the six-member council of Omar bin al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him.
The question is that is it according to the interests of Iran and the Muslim world to insult the sanctities of the majority of the Muslims? Will it be beneficial for the Ummah that has been suffering from conspiracies of the enemies to divide them? The Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, and some other Shia clerics have forbidden their followers from the sacrilege of Sunnis’ sanctities; they have called statements which enhance sectarian disputes ‘Zionist plots’ for the Muslims. But we still hear such invidious statements.
All writers and speakers must realize the sensitivity of the matter and critical conditions of the Muslim world. They have no choice but to be careful and cautious in their words if they really do not want Muslim divided.
