The eminent Iranian Sunni leader urged in the Friday sermon of 27 Nov. 2015, of Zahedan that carrying out divine responsibilities make human beings prosperous.
Khateeb and Friday imam of the Sunni community in Zahedan, southeastern Iran, began his speech before tens of thousands worshipers by the Noble Qur’anic verse: “إنَّ الَّذينَ آمَنوا وَعَمِلُوا الصّالِحاتِ كانَت لَهُم جَنّاتُ الفِردَوسِ نُزُلًا; verily, as for those who attain to faith and do righteous deeds – the gardens of paradise will be there to welcome them.”
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said, “Allah Almighty -who has created each and everything in the universe- has created mankind for any special purpose. All of the creatures, such as moon, sun and stars, carry out their assigned duties without any disobedience.”
“The Almighty has created human beings for a great purpose and appropriate with their duties. Monotheism, accurate tenets and deeds, good moral and attitude and worshiping the Sublime are the responsibilities of the mankind. This capability has been bestowed on the mankind,” he added more.
The rector of Darululoom Zahedan further said, “The duties of mankind in the worldly life are a test of them, too. By carrying out those duties, human beings get a much higher position than any other creature. It is regrettable, today’s people do not know their responsibilities or they close eyes running away from their duties.”
Alluding to the negligence of mankind about the duties, he said, “Many of the people claim that carrying out the duties is difficult; it is baseless excuse as they are supposed to do only what they can. The fact is that we have been running away from our duties and Satan wants to make us believe it is a ‘difficult task’.”
“The Noble Qur’an has been sent towards human beings to save them from the Hell. It asks and complains why you are running away from the straight path? Why Muslims are not real believers? When you are the ‘slaves’ of Allah, why you do not worship Him? Why you do not hand over the due rights of people? We should be responsible human beings,” Mawlana Abdol-Hamid underlined.
The eminent Islamic scholar said, “Being away from Allah, the Qur’an and Sunnah is the sign of irresponsibility. Allah loves the ones who carry out their assigned duties well. Parents have responsibilities about their children; many of the parents do not show much attention on their children’s morals and religion. They should be up brought as they should not forget their Lord wherever they are.”
“If someone wants to experience any change, s/he should carry out his/her duties such as offering prayers, observing fast and performing Hajj. Realizing the rights of Allah, protecting eyes and ears from sins and avoiding from other misdeeds, human beings can reach to perfection and purification,” he added more.
Concluding his points in the first part of his speech, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said, “Entering the Paradise is not easy; only those who go on the roads lead to the Paradise can enter it. By enduring difficulties we can save ourselves from the Hell. So we should repent towards Allah and disappoint Satan and the inner self.
People Deny Insecurity in Sistan-Baluchistan
In the second part of his sermon, the outstanding Iranian Sunni leader termed peace and security in Sistan-Baluchistan an ‘important issue’, urging the people of this region deny and disagree with any kind of insecurity.
He said in this regard, “The cloud of insecurity is visible everywhere in the world. But by the grace of Allah, our country and province enjoy a good peace. All should be thankful to the Almighty for this great blessing.”
“The enemies of Iran have been looking for any opportunity to create insecurity and destabilize peace of the country. They want to spread sectarian disputes just for the sake of their interests. Insecurity harms the interests of our country. The international Zionist movement and the other arrogant powers misuse the conditions of Iran for their interests. Thus, all should be vigilant,” the Friday Imam of Sunnis in Zahedan underlined.
He expressed his anxiety over the reports on the bombings in Sistan-Baluchistan and said, “There are some reports about insecurity incidents and planting bombs on the roads; it has made us very worried. We announce overtly that the people of Sistan-Baluchistan do not allow anyone to destabilize the peace of the province.”
“By the blessings of Allah, the condition is much more stable than past in the province; Shia and Sunni communities have mutual understanding and they tolerate each other more than any time. This fraternity is in accordance with the interests of our people.”
The rector of Darululoom Zahedan added more, “We would like to request the dear residents of Sistan-Baluchistan –regardless to their class and community- to not allow anyone to destabilize the peace of the province. Also, the elements who have been deceived by others to create insecurity should know their activities are against the will of people and the country.”
“However the Sunni and Shia communities of the province suffer from some troubles, but none of people, including Ulama, tribal elders, educated class and common citizens is happy with insecurity. Rather, they want to resolve their problems by legal channels,” the prominent Iranian Sunni scholar emphasized.
At the end of his sermon, he alluded to Baseej Week in Iran calling that volunteer force a platform for serving people which should be active in development and ensuring security.
