‘Qur’an; the greatest treasure’

Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah in Khash, the rector of Madinat-ul-Uloom seminary, Mawlana Othman Qalandarzahi was another guest of the 21st graduation ceremony in the grand Mosalla of Sunnis in Zahedan on Monday, June 18, 2012. He delivered a lecture on the importance of Holy Qur’an and Muslims’ gathering in honor of the Qur’an and Hadith.

He began his sermon by recitation of holy Qur’anic verse: «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قَدْ جَاءتْكُم مَّوْعِظَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَشِفَاء لِّمَا فِي الصُّدُورِ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ* قُلْ بِفَضْلِ اللّهِ وَبِرَحْمَتِهِ فَبِذَلِكَ فَلْيَفْرَحُواْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِّمَّا يَجْمَعُونَ», (O mankind! there hath come to you a direction from your Lord and a healing for the (diseases) in your hearts, – and for those who believe, a guidance and a Mercy. Say, with the grace of Allah and with His mercy (this book has been revealed). So they should rejoice in it. It is much better than that (wealth) which they accumulate.) And a noble Hadith: «خيرکم من تعلم القرآن و علمه. », (The best among you is the one who learned the Qur’an and taught it.)

The prominent scholar of Khash pointed out towards the graduation ceremony in initiatory words, saying, ‘Organization of this great ceremony is on the basis of glorification of Holy Qur’an and Hadith as well as ‘Elm and Ulama. Like previous years, tens of thousands devotees of Holy Qur’an and Hadith have gathered in this place to prove their love for them. May Allah accept your presence and the sincere efforts of the organizers of the ceremony, particularly, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hameed- may Allah protect him always-.’

He went on to say that Holy Qur’an was the actual words of Allah Almighty. Qur’an is the feature of the Sublime. Holy Qur’an, basically, should be interpreted by Qur’an itself. In above-recited verses Allah states that a sermon has come to mankind from Allah which is the spiritual sustenance of mankind. Holy Qur’an is the first spiritual food of human being. It has been revealed to bestow mankind prosperity. It heals all wounds and worries; firstly the spiritual diseases like ignorance, Shirk, arrogance etc.  

Khateeb of Khash further said, ‘Holy Qur’an has come to remove bad characters replacing them by good ones. Qur’an is rich in knowledge; Allah sends His mercy on the blest people who act upon its directions and commands. This great treasure is greater than any rank and position in the world; as Allah states: « هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِّمَّا يَجْمَعُونَ», (It is much better than that (wealth) which they accumulate.) The best nation is the one that enjoys brilliant teachings of Holy Qur’an. We believe Muslim nation is superior; none of Jews and Christians can be compared with Muslims, because they have the wealth of Qur’an. There is no any self-sufficient religion like Islam. Islam is an unrivaled and unbeatable religion; it will remain so until the last day of this world, indeed.’

He underlined saying that Holy Prophet had trained his companions well and Sahabah are tendinous who are the best of Ummah. They were students of Holy Prophet who were examined by Allah SWT. The Companions succeeded in all examinations. Therefore, Allah announced His pleasure from them in many places in the Qur’an. Allah made their hearts rich in piety and forgave them. These are the points which are stated in Holy Qur’an.

At the end of his sermon, Mawlana Muhammad Othman Qalandarzahi pointed saying, ‘As Holy Qur’an is a unique divine book, in the same way Holy Prophet and his brilliant teachings are unique. His characters and features were incomparable. None of previous religions had sincere supporters like the Companions of Holy Prophet, peace be upon him.’
