Talking to the managers of the Trade-Industrial Free Zone, the most influential Sunni leader said, “Discretion and partnership should be noticed; we hope by utilizing the natural resources of Chabahar and the Free Trade-Industrial Zone there would be a vast positive change in the region, particularly in Sistan-Baluchistan, the poorest province of Iran.”
He stated the geographic position of the Chabahar port places it in close proximity to major international and central Asia shipping routes. Thus it can compete with other regional ports.
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid praised the positive stances of the current government over the province and called on the directors of the port to fight with poverty and unemployment.
He expressed his regret over the growing rate of unemployment in Sistan-Baluchistan and said, “The caretakers of industry in the country are going to launch petrochemical, steel and motor corporation factories; there must be a chance for local residents after necessary training to get jobs.”
Alluding to the salient advancements of the Gwadar Port in Pakistan, located near the Chabahar Port, Khateeb of Sunnis called on the officials to do not leave any stone unturned to progress the free zone by getting the capabilities of elites, experts and specialized forces.
At the end of his speech, he urged on the ‘motivation of Allah’s pleasure’ in all aspects of life. He said complete development can be achieved when we struggle in both spiritual and material angles.
