‘We have no choice but repentance to Allah’

In the latest Friday sermon on 27, May 2011, khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah in Zahedan, Shaikh Abdul Hameed talked about Tawba (repentance) and called public to prepare for the Day of Resurrection.
Shaikh began his speech by recitation of the 18th verse of sourah al-Hashr and said that Almighty Allah addresses the believers to have fear of Him and see what they have prepared for the Day of Judgment.
He added more, ‘It is a very important point that Almighty Allah addresses each one of Mumineen. Allah Almighty has not said any where in the Qur’an that look what you had done for your this life of world; but he has warned all the believers to be ready for the Day of Accountability. It proves that success in the Hereafter is more important than our mortal life.’
The eminent Sunni scholar further said, ‘Now-a-days Muslims do not prepare for Hereafter as the Companions of the prophet Mohammad صلی الله علیه وسلم used to do. We must follow them step by step. Who has guarantee of salvation and success in the Hereafter? So why are we careless about it? Holy prophet Muhammad صلی الله علیه وسلم said: I do not know what will happen to me and you (Sahabas) on the Day of Resurrection; then what others can claim?
Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdul Hameed pointed that people repent towards Allah rarely; crying from the fear of Allah has become unusual. You should meditate upon the reasons of this weakness. People are used to say: Allah is Ghafour and Raheem! No doubt He is the most Merciful and Gracious, but why people forget that Allah is the most merciful in this world as well? Why they strive for gaining and gathering more and more money and property? They only depend on Allah in the Hereafter but not in this worldly life!
Addressing the worshipers in grand Makki mosque, Shaikh said more, ‘Fear of Allah, be sure that He knows each and every deed of you. It is so regrettable that despite knowing this fact, many persons loot the rights of others, they tease and torture people. Siblings, spouses and neighbors declare each other enemy. Do not deprive any one from his/her right. Be tactful and know that your body parts are integrity so do not betray and return towards Allah Almighty.
