Sheikh Abdul Hameed, Imam and Khateeb of Zahedan’s Sunnis, in his Friday sermon talked about the new solar year and expressed the Sunnis’ concerns regarding abuses which are being given to the Companions of the Prophet (PBUH) and the Mothers of the Believers in previous years and said: “We hope, there would not be blaspheme of Sunni’s holy sites and personalities. Sunnis should avoid from abusing the Shiites as well as Shiites have to stop abusing of Sunni’s sanctities and beliefs in the New Year and coming years.”
Sheikh Abdul Hameed declared that discrimination behavior in job appointment and other fields of life is the main problem which worried Sunni community of Iran and said: “The officials hoped to remove such initiative manners and to eliminate our concerns regarding distinctions in the employment of qualified Sunnis in the New Year”.
He further said that the difference between the various Islamic sects like Shias and Sunnis is fundamental differences, each sect has a destination, and God will reward rather it was right or wrong. The Grand Sheikh, the head of Darululoom Zahidan pointed to the point which can get all these sects united and said: “The great unity can be achieved by two ways: 1- sanctities of each sect should not be blasphemed, any sect must not be abused particularly the Sahabas and the Mothers of the Believers (may Allah be pleased with them) remembered badly. 2- To eliminate the discrimination in hiring qualified Sunnis, if the mentioned points are accepted and be followed so the unity and fraternity among the Sunnis and Shiites will be ensured.”
The great leader of the Sunni community referred to his last trip to Chabahar area (south of Balochistan), and expressed his concern about the policies which are exercised for racial discrimination in mandate of posts to the Sunnis in the region. He said: “I felt worries of the people about this issue, especially when I was on religious and reformism mission last week in the southern regions of the province (Balochistan), where most of the complaints of the people were about their removal from the posts and their jobs and replace with the people of other regions and the officials deprived them from rights deliberately, rather it is fact that they are local residents of the area.”
Khateeb of the largest Sunni mosque went on, pointing out to the hidden hands that they attempt to plunder the hands of the Sunnis out of self-determination in Sistan & Balochistan province of Iran and said that the minimal respect of a range of people is to delegate to identify and determine their destiny into their hands. To maintain of respect of any community is to give them authority to run their activities without any hesitation and fear, as well as to participate that group in self-determination and management of their country.
Maulana Abdul Hameed called in his Friday sermon the officials to listen to complaints of the people and their objections and said: “It is the rule on world level that the sovereign listen to the objections of their people, and then keeping such objections in their mind to revamp their policies or to change it if it is necessary, so we hope the officials and authorized departments in the new solar year to listen to our these objections, and to take initiative step to resolve issues which caused the worried of the Sunni community for many years. We think that problems’ resolution is the only step to reform the system and to progress the country, so do not pay attention to the mudslinging of extremists and who are enemies of Sunni’s participation in the management of the country, the extremists, whether they are Sunnis or Shiites would harm the unity and brotherhood, and they are hurting the progress of the country and depriving them from goodness and righteousness.”
