{"id":3774,"date":"2014-08-28T06:05:47","date_gmt":"2014-08-28T06:05:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/wp3\/?p=3774"},"modified":"2014-08-28T06:05:47","modified_gmt":"2014-08-28T06:05:47","slug":"gaza-high-rise-hit-by-israeli-strikes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sunnionline.us\/english\/2014\/08\/28\/3774\/","title":{"rendered":"Gaza high-rise hit by Israeli strikes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.3em; color: #000000;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/stories\/news3\/gaza-140.jpg\" border=\"0\" style=\"float: right; margin: 4px;\" \/>At least five Israeli air strikes have destroyed much of one of Gaza&#8217;s tallest apartment and office buildings, setting off huge explosions and wounding 20 people, Palestinian health officials said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>  <!--more-->  <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Israel had no immediate comment on Tuesday&#8217;s attack.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Seventy families lived in the building, which also housed offices and a shopping complex.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Al Jazeera&#8217;s Jane Ferguson, reporting from Gaza, said Israel fired three non-explosive warning missiles before the air strikes. <\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;The 13-storey building, contained 11 floors of residential units and two floors of commercial offices and a coffee shop. those floors also host the offices of the Ministry of Public Works and offices belonging to the political wing of Hamas movement,&#8221; Ferguson said.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Since a truce between Israel and armed factions in Gaza collapsed, the death toll in the Palestinian enclave has steadily risen, with 13 more Palestinians killed in Israeli strikes since Sunday night.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">On Monday, a 17-year-old boy was killed and about 25 people were wounded in a strike on a Gaza City mosque.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Gaza religious affairs ministry said Israeli fire during the day destroyed four more mosques, raising to 71 the number of mosques destroyed over the past seven weeks.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Abdullah Mortaja, 27, a freelance journalist who previously worked for Hamas&#8217;s Al-Aqsa TV, was among the latest casualties.
