{"id":3389,"date":"2014-02-13T07:17:41","date_gmt":"2014-02-13T07:17:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/wp3\/?p=3389"},"modified":"2014-02-13T07:17:41","modified_gmt":"2014-02-13T07:17:41","slug":"dubai-gets-first-smart-mosque","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sunnionline.us\/english\/2014\/02\/13\/3389\/","title":{"rendered":"Dubai Gets First Smart Mosque"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/stories\/news3\/dubai-Gets-First-Smart-Mosque.jpg\" border=\"0\" style=\"float: right; margin: 5px;\" \/>United Arab Emirates has opened its first smart mosque in Dubai using the Quick response (QR) code technology which offers digital access to mosques.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>  <!--more-->  <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;We are using the QR code technology to identify all mosques of the emirate to help develop and add more value to them,&#8221; Dr Hamad Al Shaibani, Director General of the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities (DIACA), was quoted by Khaleej Times on Tuesday, February 11.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201c[We] make the electronic services easier and more accessible.\u201d<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Inaugurated last Sunday by Al Shaibani, Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum mosque in Jumeirah 3 became the first Emirati mosque to use QR code technology.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The new smart mosque would allow worshippers to easily get general information about the mosque using their smart phones and tablets at any time.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The digital information of the mosque would include its history, capacity, nature, area, prayer timings, lectures or courses offered by the mosque, along with information about Friday sermon.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;The QR code technology allows mosque-goers to access a special webpage of the mosque by scanning its barcode with a smart phone or tablet which are automatically equipped with this technology,&#8221; said Nassir Mubarak, head of IT section at DIACA.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;Otherwise an app for QR code can be downloaded easily for concerned online stores,\u201d Mubarak added.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The launching of Al-Maktoum smart mosque is part of the first phase of Dubai\u2019s smart mosques project which includes plans for nine more smart mosques with similar technologies.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The smart mosques project is sponsored by the Smart Government initiative which was announced by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, Emirates\u2019 vice president, last year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Interactivity<\/strong><\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The smart mosques project is expecting to develop better communication between mosques and Muslim worshippers, allowing them to share their comments, remarks, feedback, and complaints freely.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The new project would also allow worshippers to post their recommendations to enhance the initiative&#8217;s performance.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cElectronic donation \u2013 under development, shall also be available, along with more services in the future,\u201d Mubarak, the head of IT section at DIACA, said.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Last December, UAE\u2019s Sharjah religious authorities announced their plans to offer Friday\u2019s sermons in five languages, along with translating them into sign language.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The multilingual mosques would allow Deaf and non-Arabic speaking Muslims to better understand their faith.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Last month, Dubai has announced plans for the world\u2019s first Qur\u2019an park which will display 51 out of the 54 plants mentioned in Qur\u2019an.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Source:<em><strong> OnIslam<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>United Arab Emirates has opened its first smart mosque in Dubai using the Quick response (QR) code technology which offers digital access to mosques.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-3389","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.6 -
