Shaikh Abdol-Hamid Isma\u2019eelzahi underlined the birthday anniversaries of saints like prophets should not be celebrated with sinful acts and vices in his latest Friday sermon, Jan. 10, 2013, saying the secret of Muslims\u2019 pride and prosperity is in imitation of Seerah.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan began his speech by the noble Qur\u2019anic verse:\u00ab\u0644\u0642\u062f \u06a9\u0627\u0646 \u0644\u06a9\u0645 \u0641\u06cc \u0631\u0633\u0648\u0644 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0627\u0633\u0648\u0629 \u062d\u0633\u0646\u0629 \u0644\u0645\u0646 \u06a9\u0627\u0646 \u06cc\u0631\u062c\u0648\u0627 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0648\u0627\u0644\u06cc\u0648\u0645 \u0627\u0644\u0622\u062e\u0631 \u0648 \u0630\u06a9\u0631 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u06a9\u062b\u06cc\u0631\u0627\u00bb, (There is indeed a good model for you in the Messenger of Allah – for the one who has hope in Allah and the Last Day, and remembers Allah profusely<\/em>.) [33: 21]<\/span><\/p>\n

Comparing the birthday anniversary of the last prophet Muhammad and the prophet Jesus (Isa bin Maryam), peace be upon them, he said, \u201cWe are in the month in which the last messenger of Allah was born; on his birthday Muslims remind each other to focus more on his life, sayings and directions. They study the path and Sunnah of the beloved prophet in order to follow them in their personal and social lives. But Christians celebrate the birthday anniversary of the prophet Jesus with sins and vices.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe birthday of such sacred men must not be celebrated with sinful acts and unrighteous items. All praises due to Allah, Muslims mention the beautiful characters and virtues of the prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, as they celebrate their two Eids by prayers and supplication. On the birthday of the prophet, they present speeches and essays on the life, morals and blessed Seerah of him, peace be upon him always,\u201d Shaikh added more.<\/span><\/p>\n

Highlighting some virtues of the last messenger of the Almighty, the rector of Darululoom Zahedan stated, \u201cOn the Resurrection Day all nations with prophets would gather under the flag of prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, as he will be interceding for them. He has the Praised Status, Maqam-e-Mahmoud and the Great Intercession, Shafa\u2019at-e-Kobra. All prophets will be proud of him who had no any example in outward featuresas well as inward characters. The stories and poems of the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them, prove this fact that he is the best.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The eminent Islamic leader underlined none of rulers and charismatic leaders of the world can reach even near to the special features of the prophet, peace be upon him, as he was free of any disgrace and fault. He is the only man in human history whose life has been recorded completely; Sahabah noted and narrated all aspects of his life and people can be aware of his Seerah anytime they want. Once some people asked the Mother of the Believers, SayyidahAyeshah, may Allah be pleased with her,\u201cwhat was the character of the Prophet?\u201d She replied: \u201cIndeed, his character was the Qur\u2019an\u201d; he, peace be upon him, was the best to his wives in their domestic duties as he used to mend his shoes and sew his torn clothes. The prophet was acting upon all commands of the Noble Qur\u2019an.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMuslims can be prosperous only by acting upon the instructions of the prophet, peace be upon him; it is the key of success for the entire humanity. His life has various angles which should examined by Muslim men and women now and then. We have not observed his routine life directly, so we should read and listen about him continuously. He was the man who loved to call himself \u201cAbdullah\u201d, the servant of Allah,\u201d Mawlana Abdol-Hamid further said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pointing out to some intemperances and sinful acts took place these days, he said, \u201cThe prophet, peace be upon him, has stated I am slave and messenger of Allah; do not make me equal with Allah as Christians did. He is the chief of mankind and Imam of the prophets. His features about prophecy can be reminded but special virtues of the Almighty cannot be counted for him. Indeed he was one of the prophets and servants of the Almighty.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In another part of his sermon, Shaikh Isma\u2019eelzahi shed light on some social problems, saying, \u201cOne of the important parts of the prophet\u2019s Seerah is about the human rights; rights of women need to be realized in particular. Some parents force their daughters to marry the man they wish. The prophet, peace be upon him, has ordered parents and elders of families to ask for permission of daughters when they want to give their hands; widows must clearly accept proposals while virgins may announce their permission in alternative ways, too. According to Shari\u2019ah parents are not allowed to force their daughters to marry anyone unwillingly. If the boy and girl match, parents should not oppose unreasonably; if there is no similarity between them for example in religion and race, parents can oppose the marriage then.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Muslims would Ignore Extremists<\/strong><\/span>
The prominent Sunni leader pointed to the arrival of the Week of Unity in Iran, in the second part of his speech, saying this week has been titled \u2018week of unity\u2019 on the birthday anniversary of the last prophet, peace be upon him; it proves the beloved prophet is a source for Muslims\u2019 unity.<\/span><\/p>\n

He termed the life of the last prophet a tool of mercy for the entire humanity. He, peace and prayers be upon him, used to fight only with oppressors and restive elements who were not recognizing any right for others. His Jihad was against tyrants who violated the due rights of other people. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe messenger of Allah fought with the aggressor kings and rulers; he did not take sword against all disbelievers and non-Muslims of his time. He inked up peace agreements with many Jews and Christians. As well as, he had peace treaties with many non-Muslim Arabs; thus he was the prophet of peace, fraternity, unity and solidarity for humankind,\u201d Shaikh added more.<\/span><\/p>\n

He alluded to the current circumstances of the Muslim nation and said, \u201cThe Islamic unity is not any political or interim issue; rather it has roots in the Noble Qur\u2019an and Hadith. The Qur\u2019an urges: \u00ab\u0648\u0627\u0639\u062a\u0635\u0645\u0648\u0627 \u0628\u062d\u0628\u0644 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u062c\u0645\u06cc\u0639\u0627 \u0648 \u0644\u0627\u062a\u0641\u0631\u0642\u0648\u0627\u00bb, (Hold fast, all of you, to the cord of Allah, and be not divided<\/em>.); 03-103\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The chairman of the Coordination Council of Sunni Seminaries in Sistan-Baluchistan further said, \u201cThe enemies of Islam scare to see Muslims vigilant. They are afraid and sensitive why Islam comes back to play role in the leading of the society; it is not in accordance with their interests. They wish prevalence of darkness, misdeeds and misguidance in our societies.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He said that Muslims want to rule on their countries independently and freely; they have ousted some of the puppets of the West. This is the point which harasses the enemies of Islam.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cDue to conspiracies of the enemies many of the Muslim states face serious challenges; they want to halt Islamic awakening of Muslim masses by creating disputes and sectarian conflicts. Our enemies do not want to see us prosperous and liberated. This issue requires Muslims\u2019 vigilance; they should be united more.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah underlined, \u201cMuslims have no choice but to recognize the rights of each other. They should protect the rights of their fellow Muslim brothers and sisters. It is a just process which enhances fraternity among Muslims. All Muslims should tolerate each other; both Shia and Sunni sects with their different tendencies must tolerate their rival sides in the frame of Islam.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhy western powers and countries like Russia should make decisions for Muslims? Why Muslim rulers, scholars and elites do not sit together to resolve their differences? They can find solutions for challenges and crises of Egypt, Syria, Iraq and other Muslim countries. But they cut ties and prefer to be separated while unity and solidarity can ensure their respect and Muslims\u2019 mutual interests,\u201d Shaikh Abdol-Hamid emphasized.<\/span><\/p>\n

In another part of his speech, he suggested the residents of Sistan-Baluchistan province to show more tolerance and strive to develop their province by unity and fraternity. Fraternity is an Islamic and national duty for the people. \u201cIf the talented members of the both communities, Shia and Sunni, are participated in the decision making departments of their province, nobody would be able to damage their unity,\u201d he added more.<\/span><\/p>\n

Calling the words of the Iranian president, Hassan Rouhani, in a meeting with governors \u201cvery constructive and historical\u201d, he pointed out, \u201cThe entire society goes towards temperance; the president and his team believe in moderation and temperance as people elected them for this. Then extremists of all sects and communities must return to the path of temperance, otherwise they would be ignored by the society. Islam does not accept anything but sobriety.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

At the end of his speech, he expressed his hope the new government would take serious steps to remove discriminations utilizing the capabilities of various ethnic and religious communities live in Iran. He said that such steps can guarantee people\u2019s unity, and durable peace and development. It is the way to make this nation an example for the rest of the world.<\/span><\/p>\n
