{"id":3225,"date":"2013-12-19T08:24:50","date_gmt":"2013-12-19T08:24:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/wp3\/?p=3225"},"modified":"2013-12-19T08:24:50","modified_gmt":"2013-12-19T08:24:50","slug":"palestinians-killed-in-israeli-arrest-raids","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sunnionline.us\/english\/2013\/12\/19\/3225\/","title":{"rendered":"Palestinians killed in Israeli arrest raids"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/stories\/news3\/palestinians%20killed%20in%20Israeli%20arrest%20raids.jpg\" border=\"0\" style=\"float: right; margin: 5px;\" \/>The Israeli army has shot dead two Palestinian men in separate raids in a town and a refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, sources on both sides said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>  <!--more-->  <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">One of the victims, a member of the Palestinian security forces, was killed during an overnight arrest raid early on Thursday in the northern town of Qalqilya.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;During an ambush organised to arrest an armed man&#8230; who had fired on Israeli soldiers several times in recent weeks, the man opened fire on soldiers, who fired back,&#8221; the Israeli army said.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;We later learnt that he had been killed.&#8221;<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Palestinian security sources identified the dead man as intelligence officer Saleh Yasin, 29.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He was on his way home when he was ambushed by the Israeli soldiers, the sources said.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Another Palestinian was shot dead by the Israeli army, and several others wounded, in clashes that erupted after a similar arrest operation in Jenin refugee camp, also in the northern West Bank, on Wednesday evening, sources on both sides said.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Palestinian security sources named the man killed in that exchange as Nafaa al-Saedi, 23, of the Islamic Jihad movement.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">According to the director of the Palestinian emergency medical services in Jenin, clashes erupted after Israeli forces entered the refugee camp, and six casualties were taken to a Jenin hospital.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He said another Palestinian, who was seriously wounded, was still being held by Israel.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Palestinian security sources told AFP news agency the soldiers had arrived to arrest Saedi and another Palestinian, 21-year-old Ali Qassem al-Saedi, who were at the home of a Hamas leader who had been arrested by Israel.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Following the incident &#8220;approximately 100 Palestinians violently attacked the security forces by hurling rocks&#8221;, the Israeli army said in its statement.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The deaths brought to 28 the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces this year, the great majority of them in the West Bank, according to an AFP tally.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">On December 7, troops shot dead a 15-year-old Palestinian during a clash in Jalazoun refugee camp near the West Bank city of Ramallah.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Source:<em><strong> Al Jazeera<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Israeli army has shot dead two Palestinian men in separate raids in a town and a refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, sources on both sides said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-3225","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.6 -
