Talabul-^ilmi faridatun ^ala kulli Muslim. <\/p>\n
Which means: \u201cSeeking the [obligatory] religious knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim.\u201d (Related by al-Bayhaqiyy.)<\/p>\n
Learning the Religious knowledge is among the best things that one may spend one\u2019s time doing. The safe path that protects a person and his family from Hellfire is by learning the Islamic knowledge, i.e., learning what Allah made obligatory upon us and learning what Allah ordered us to avoid.<\/p>\n
Allah, ta^ala, said in the Qur\u2019an:<\/p>\n
\u064a\u064e\u0631\u0652\u0641\u064e\u0639\u0650 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0647\u064f \u0627\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0630\u0650\u064a\u0646\u064e \u0622\u0645\u064e\u0646\u064f\u0648\u0627 \u0645\u0650\u0646\u0643\u064f\u0645\u0652 \u0648\u064e\u0627\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0630\u0650\u064a\u0646\u064e \u0623\u064f\u0648\u062a\u064f\u0648\u0627 \u0627\u0644\u0652\u0639\u0650\u0644\u0652\u0645\u064e \u062f\u064e\u0631\u064e\u062c\u064e\u0627\u062a\u064d<\/p>\n
Yarfa^illahu-lladhina amanu minkum walladhina utul-^ilma darajat.<\/p>\n
Ayah 11 of Suratul-Mujadalah means: {Allah raises to higher ranks the believers and those of (Islamic) knowledge.}<\/p>\n
The Prophet, sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam, said:<\/p>\n
\u0645\u064e\u0646\u0652 \u064a\u064f\u0631\u0650\u062f\u0650 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647\u064f \u0628\u0650\u0647\u0650 \u062e\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0631\u0627\u064b \u064a\u064f\u0641\u064e\u0642\u0651\u0650\u0647\u0652\u0647\u064f \u0641\u0650\u064a \u0627\u0644\u062f\u0651\u0650\u064a\u0646\u0650<\/p>\n
May yuridillahu bihi kayray-yufaqqihhu fid-din.<\/p>\n
Which means: \u201cThe one for whom Allah willed goodness, Allah guides him to become a knowledgeable person in the Religion.\u201d (Narrated by al-Bukhariyy.)<\/p>\n
Knowledge and good manners: One will not become pious except by learning and practicing that which one learned. This means that one must learn the matters of the Religion and follow what one learned. The one who does this is the person who knows how to use one\u2019s heart and other organs to obey Allah. By this, one will have good manners. One uses one\u2019s hearing to obtain the knowledge, and one\u2019s tongue to review and teach what one has learned.<\/p>\n
The Prophet, sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam, said:<\/p>\n
\u0628\u064e\u0644\u0651\u0650\u063a\u064f\u0648\u0627 \u0639\u064e\u0646\u0651\u0650\u064a \u0648\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0648\u0652 \u0622\u064a\u064e\u0629\u064b<\/p>\n
Ballighu ^anni walaw-ayah.<\/p>\n
Which means: \u201cConvey from me, even if it was one verse.\u201d (Narrated by al-Bukhariyy.)<\/p>\n
The sins of the tongue: Among what one must avoid are the sins of the tongue. Among the sins of the tongue are giving an Islamic judgment without knowledge, refusing to teach the Islamic obligatory knowledge while there is a student who wishes to acquire it, and refraining from ordering with ma^ruf (obligations) and forbidding munkar (prohibitions).<\/p>\n
1- Giving judgment without knowledge: It is sinful for one to give judgments in the matters of the Religion out of one\u2019s own opinion. This harms the one who does it. For example if someone says: \u201cSuch and such is allowed or not allowed,\u201d while one does not know the Islamic judgment of whether it is allowed or not, one commits a major sin.<\/p>\n
The Prophet, sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam, said:<\/p>\n
\u0645\u064e\u0646\u0652 \u0623\u064e\u0641\u0652\u062a\u064e\u0649 \u0628\u0650\u063a\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0631\u0650 \u0639\u0650\u0644\u0652\u0645 \u064d \u0641\u064e\u0639\u064e\u0644\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0647\u0650 \u0644\u064e\u0639\u064e\u0646\u064e\u062a\u0629\u064f \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647\u0650 \u0648\u064e\u0627\u0644\u0652\u0645\u064e\u0644\u0627\u064e\u0626\u0650\u0643\u064e\u0629\u0650 \u0648\u064e\u0627\u0644\u0646\u0651\u064e\u0627\u0633\u0650 \u0623\u064e\u062c\u0652\u0645\u064e\u0639\u0650\u064a\u0646<\/p>\n
Man afta bighayri ^ilmin fa^alayhi la^natullahi wal-mala\u2019ikati wan-nasi ajma^in.<\/p>\n
Which means: \u201cLet the damnation of Allah, the angels, and all the people be on the one who gives an Islamic judgment without knowledge.\u201d (Related by As-Suyutiyy.)<\/p>\n
2- Refusing to teach the Islamic obligatory knowledge while someone wishes to acquire it: This is one of the sins of the tongue. An example of it is refusing (without a religious excuse) to teach the personal obligatory knowledge to a person who needs to learn it.<\/p>\n
The Prophet, sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam, said:<\/p>\n
\u0645\u064e\u0646\u0652 \u0633\u064f\u0626\u0650\u0644\u064e \u0639\u064e\u0646\u0652 \u0639\u0650\u0644\u0652\u0645\u064d \u0641\u064e\u0643\u064e\u062a\u064e\u0645\u064e\u0647\u064f \u0623\u064f\u0644\u0652\u062c\u0650\u0645\u064e \u064a\u064e\u0648\u0652\u0645\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0642\u0650\u064a\u064e\u0627\u0645\u064e\u0629\u0650 \u0628\u0650\u0644\u0650\u062c\u064e\u0627\u0645\u064d \u0645\u064e\u0646\u0652 \u0646\u064e\u0627\u0631\u064d<\/p>\n
Man su\u2019ila ^an ^ilmin fakatamahu uljima yawmal-qiyamati bilijamim min-Nar.<\/p>\n
Which means: \u201cThe one who is asked to teach the religious [obligatory] knowledge and refrains from it (with no excuse) will be bridled with a reign of fire on the Day of Judgment.\u201d (Related by Ibn Majah, al-Hakim, Ibn Hibban.)<\/p>\n
3- Refraining from ordering with ma^ruf (obligations) and forbidding munkar (prohibitions): This is among the sins of the tongue only if one is able. So, if someone sees another person, who listens to advice, leaving out the prayer, one is obligated to order him to pray.<\/p>\n
