In the first part of his speech during the Friday prayer in Zahedan on 26 June 2026, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid spoke about the objectives behind the missions of the prophets, especially the Final Prophet Mohammad PBUH.
He stated that “teaching the Book and wisdom” and “purifying and reforming society” are among the most important objectives of the prophets’ missions. He emphasized that following the Seerah and Sunnah of the Prophet Mohammad, peace be upon him, is essential for attaining success, peace, and the blessings of Paradise.
According to the official website of the Friday Imam of Sunnis in Zahedan, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid recited the following verse: “He is the One Who sent among the unlettered people a Messenger from among themselves, reciting to them His verses, purifying them, and teaching them the Book and wisdom, although before that they were clearly astray.” (Qur’an 62:2)
He stated that Allah the Almighty has explained in the Holy Qur’an the purpose of sending the Prophet Muhammad \ufdfa: to recite and explain the verses of Allah, act upon them himself, and practically demonstrate the divine teachings to the people. He said that the verses of the Qur’an provide the finest guidance and direction for humanity in every aspect of life.
He further explained that the Prophet Peace be upon him was commissioned by Allah to purify people from shirk, disbelief, hypocrisy, arrogance, envy, and every spiritual and moral corruption that may exist within a person. He was also sent to teach the Book and wisdom and to explain the words, meanings, and message of the Qur’an. Mawlana Abdol-Hamid stated that reciting and explaining the Book of Allah, along with purifying and reforming society, have been among the central objectives of the Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him and all the prophets of Allah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/strong>The Friday prayer leader of Zahedan stated that the Qur’an clearly shows the purpose of sending the prophets was to reform and purify every individual in society, rescue people from disbelief and polytheism, and guide them to true faith and sound belief. These, he said, are among the divine objectives behind the prophetic mission.
He added that the greatest danger facing every human being is associating partners with Allah. The foundation of faith is correct belief and faith in the absolute oneness of Allah. This means recognizing one’s Lord, honoring Him, depending upon Him, worshipping Him alone, and fulfilling acts of worship such as prayer, fasting, and Hajj.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/strong>Mawlana Abdol-Hamid stated that one of the greatest goals of the prophets was to build noble character, so that people would avoid arrogance, selfishness, and shirk, refrain from violating the rights of others, become a source of goodness for everyone, avoid envy and greed, and uphold justice and fairness.
He added that the Prophet Mohammad peace be upon him brought justice and equality and recognized the equal rights of all human beings, including men and women. Islam established equality, and if there are differences in certain rulings, such as inheritance, they are based on divine wisdom. When that wisdom is properly understood, it becomes clear that such rulings are themselves manifestations of justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/strong>The president of Darululoom Zahedan stated that the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him strongly emphasized respecting people’s rights and preserving their dignity. Honoring parents, showing kindness to them, respecting the rights of neighbors, supporting the poor, the needy, and families without guardians, and dealing with all people with justice and fairness are among the teachings that the Prophet Peace be upon him repeatedly emphasized.
He further noted that before Islam, harmful customs regarding women were widespread in the Arabian Peninsula, and women were subjected to injustice. The Prophet Peace be upon him defended the rights of women. He referred to the Prophetic tradition stating that whoever raises and cares for his daughters until they marry will be rewarded with Paradise.
He continued by saying that although much is said today about humanity, true humanity is absent. As long as people’s rights and dignity are not respected, arrogance and selfishness remain, and justice, fairness, family ties, and kindness to parents are neglected, there can be no genuine humanity. The highest expression of humanity is recognizing Allah. If people fail to recognize their greatest Benefactor and Creator, and if justice, fairness, maintaining family ties, and kindness toward parents are absent, then true humanity cannot exist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/strong>Concluding this part of his speech, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid stated that the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him was the perfect human being in whom every outward and inward excellence was combined. Allah created him with exceptional physical beauty, granted him the noblest lineage, and blessed him with the finest character, conduct, and way of life. He said that if Muslims adopt the character, conduct, and lifestyle of the Prophet peace be upon him in their own lives, they too can attain the highest standards of moral and spiritual excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/strong>In the second part of his speech, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid pointed to the numerous problems facing the Iranian people, especially in the economic and livelihood sectors.
He emphasized that in all negotiations, national interests and improving the living conditions of the Iranian people must be the top priority and take precedence over the interests of any other country or nation.
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid welcomed the talks and negotiations between Iran and the United States and said: \u201cWe are supporters of peace and dialogue. The Qur\u2019an also emphasizes this in the verse \u2018And if they incline to peace, then incline to it and rely upon Allah.\u2019 Therefore, I consider these negotiations, talks, and reconciliation efforts beneficial for the Iranian nation and other nations of the world.\u201d
He further stated: \u201cIn the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the US, the most important duty is that the interests of both nations are taken into consideration. The interests of the Iranian nation must be placed first, and for our country\u2019s negotiating team, the interests of the Iranian people must take precedence over the interests of any other nation or country.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/strong>The Friday Imam of Zahedan stressed: \u201cIt is not in the interest of the Americans to make Israel their red line. Similarly, for the officials of our country in these negotiations, national interests and the interests of the Iranian people must be the priority. I do not consider it correct that the national interests of the US and Iran become tied to Israel and Lebanon.\u201d
He added: \u201cThese days, the people of Iran are living under extremely difficult livelihood conditions. Inflation and hardship are rampant, and people are facing a dead end. Therefore, the lives of the Iranian people should not be tied to any other country. Defending the rights of the oppressed is good, but tying the interests and destiny of the country to another nation is not consistent with Iran\u2019s national interests.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/strong>The Friday Imam of Zahedan said: \u201cOnce Iran and the US resolve their own disputes and establish diplomatic relations with each other, they can easily pursue and resolve the issues of Israel, Lebanon, and Palestine through diplomacy.\u201d
He added: \u201cAs long as the issues and problems of the Middle East are not resolved, the problems will continue. Solving the problems of the Middle East requires the efforts and participation of all countries. All countries of the world have interests in the Middle East. How long must these conflicts continue while the Middle East burns in the fire of war?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/strong>Mawlana Abdol-Hamid emphasized the need to \u201cavoid emotions and slogans\u201d in running the country, and said: \u201cThe Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) never chanted \u2018Death to\u2019 slogans against the hypocrites, polytheists, Jews, or Christians who were hostile to the Muslims. Therefore, we should not chant \u2018Death to\u2019 slogans against any country or nation. Even if some justify that they do not mean the people, when a \u2018death\u2019 slogan is raised against a country, it includes the nation as well.\u201d
He continued: \u201cIt is not appropriate to continue the slogans from forty-seven years ago; because conditions have changed and most of those who were present at the beginning of the revolution are no longer here. We must understand the current realities. Running a country, maintaining governance, and protecting national interests are not possible through emotions and slogans. A new season must begin in our country, and the door of dialogue must be opened. Just as you hold talks with outsiders, you should also sit with your own people, talk to them, and pay attention to their demands.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/strong>Mawlana Abdol-Hamid expressed concern over the lack of legal freedoms for the people of Khuzestan, and said: \u201cThe people of Ahvaz have been complaining about the pressures being exerted on them. The Sunni community of Ahvaz also complains that they do not enjoy the necessary legal freedoms.\u201d
He added: \u201cThe country needs a new season in which pressures are removed across the country and the rights of ethnic groups and religious communities are respected. Some ethnicities, especially in border regions including the people of Khuzestan\u2014particularly the Sunnis of the province who are Hanbali\u2014constantly complain about pressures and the violation of their rights.\u201d
The Friday Imam of Zahedan emphasized: \u201cWe call upon the government, the Supreme National Security Council, and the Minister of Interior to make efforts to improve the conditions of the people of Ahvaz and to respect the rights and freedoms of ethnic groups and religious communities, as emphasized in Islamic teachings, international law, and the country\u2019s constitution.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/strong>Mawlana Abdol-Hamid also stressed the \u201crelease of political prisoners\u201d, and said: \u201cIn the new conditions of the country, it is necessary to release political prisoners and engage in dialogue with them. Civil society should be strengthened and those who demand and pursue their rights through civil means should be supported. No one accepts violence and we do not either, but the whole world accepts civil activities.\u201d
He added: \u201cThe door of dialogue with ethnic groups, religious communities, and political activists must be opened. This is in the interest of the country, it will increase the country\u2019s credibility at the international level, it will help control inflation and rising prices, and it brings the pleasure of God and the people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/strong>In another part of his Friday sermon in Zahedan, the Friday Imam referred to the life imprisonment sentence issued against Dr. Mahrang Baloch, leader of the \u201cBaloch Solidarity Committee\u201d in Balochistan province of Pakistan, and said: \u201cRecently, Dr. Mahrang Baloch, who heads a political and human rights organization, along with several other Baloch civil activists, have been sentenced to life imprisonment.\u201d
He stated: \u201cMs. Mahrang Baloch emphasized pursuing the demands of the Baloch people through civil struggle and avoiding violence. In the past, I told Pakistani officials that organizations and individuals who demand their rights through civil means are an opportunity for this country, especially for Balochistan province, and should be strengthened; this helps Pakistan\u2019s national security.\u201d
He noted: \u201cPakistan is Iran\u2019s neighbor and the two countries share common interests. Therefore, our recommendation to Pakistani officials is to revoke the prison sentence of Dr. Mahrang Baloch and other civil activists and release them. Pakistani officials can influence those engaged in armed activities through dialogue with these civil activists.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/strong>Mawlana Abdol-Hamid emphasized the need to \u201cavoid road blockades in Balochistan\u201d, and said:
\u201cMy advice to the people of Balochistan is not to block transportation routes and not to set vehicles on fire, because this action first and foremost harms the Baloch people on both sides and then harms the country. Transportation routes must remain open and travelers should be able to move safely.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/strong>Mawlana Abdol-Hamid described the recent earthquake in Venezuela as \u201chorrifying and unprecedented\u201d, and said: \u201cIn the horrifying and unprecedented earthquake that occurred in Venezuela, many people lost their lives. May Allah Almighty remove this calamity from the people of Venezuela.\u201d
He added: \u201cThe message of these events is that human beings should abandon corruption and oppression, and if they want to live in security, they must live righteously.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/strong>At the end of his speech, the Friday Imam of Zahedan, referring to the closure of religious schools during the summer months and their planning for special summer classes for school and university students, called upon all families and people to welcome the programs organized by Sunni scholars and religious schools\u2014including the Student Affairs and University Affairs offices of Darululoom Zahedan during the summer\u2014and to encourage their children to participate in these classes and programs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
