A special court in Hamedan city sentenced two famous Kurd Sunni clerics to prison and 74 lashes on Wednesday 24th May, 2023.
The local sources informed, Mamousta Abdul-Jabbar Lotfi, an influential Kurdish scholar, the Friday Imam of the “Grand Irshad Mosque” of Sanandaj has been sentenced to half and seven month prison, 74 lashes and unfrocking by the Special Cleric Court of Hamedan on Wednesday May 24, 2023.
The court also sentenced Mamousta Sayyed Jalal Akbari, the Friday Imam of Gaga village in the Sarvabad County, to two years suspended imprisonment.
It should be mentioned; before this, Mullah Sayyed Saifullah Husseini from Javanrood was sentenced to 17 years imprisonment, 74 lashes, and 2 years of exile to Ardebil and unfrocking. The Special Court of Hamedan also has sentenced Mamousta Saber Moradi, Imam of the Noor Mosque of Qawakh\Saqez city to 5 months imprisonment and 74 lashes.
