Teachers of Darululoom Zahedan Decried Shooting at Zahedan’s Demonstrators

Issuing a statement, the teachers of Darululoom Zahedan denounced the indiscriminate firing of the security forces at the protestors and volunteer security guards of the Grand Makki mosque of Zahedan on Friday, November 25, 2022. They urged on stopping oppression and injustice.
The security forces shot demonstrators in the streets around the Grand Makki Mosque of Zahedan, capital city of Iranian Balochistan, immediately after the Friday prayers ceremony when some youth and teenagers were chanting slogans against the Iranian officials. This incident left dozens, including children and volunteers guards injured.
Among the injured, the condition of some members of volunteer security guards of the Makki mosque is serious.
The teachers of Darululoom Zahedan and the staff of the security guard of the Grand Makki Mosque issued separate statements condemning the attack and demanding an investigation.
The statement of the staff of the security guard of the Grand Makki Mosque says: “After finishing the Friday prayers, public protests started in Khayyam Street. People were protesting as usual. Suddenly, the security forces and the members of the IRGC shot at the demonstrators. Dozens of people were injured and blinded, losing their eyes. The armed forces directly shot at the volunteer security guards of the Makki Mosque, who were in charge of security and were wearing uniforms. More than 10 members were injured in the incident as they were trying to control the situation.”
The statement adds: “We, the members of the Security Guard of the Grand Makki Mosque of Zahedan, express our protest against this inhumane and violent treatment of the armed forces against the demonstrators. They are actually rioters who commit such inhumane acts with government weapons and cause chaos in the region. We want of the officials to deal with the perpetrators of this crime.”
The teachers of Darululoom Zahedan announced in a statement: “In this incident, in addition to assaulting the people, the armed forces opened fire at the doors and walls of the Makki Mosque of Zahedan. Bullet marks are visible on the walls and doors of Makki Grand Mosque.”
The statement says: “The teachers of Darululoom Zahedan strongly condemn the violent behavior of the military forces, which disrupt security in the region, and we request the judicial authorities to deal with these troublemakers legally and justly.”
The statement says: “Following the bloody crimes of the last weeks and due to discrimination and unsolved problems, a number of young people, teenagers and children are chanting slogans on Fridays.”
“Instead of tolerating the protestors, the security forces severely beat, tortured and insulted them. If this behavior continues, it will cause more hatred and enmity in the future,” said teachers of Darululoom Zahedan in their statement.
