Iran’s Sunni Clerics Meet with President Raisi in Tehran

A group of Sunni clerics from different provinces of Iran met with the president Raisi in Tehran on Wednesday 11 May, 2022.
In this visit, problems, concerns and expectations of Sunni Community of Iran and the current inflation and economic problems were raised.
The engagement of Sunni elites in official positions, economic and living problems, the issue of unemployment of young people, providing basic needs of bordering provinces were discussed in the meeting.
Referring to the religious problems of Sunnis, the most influential Iranian Sunni leader emphasized on the necessity of providing religious freedoms and elimination of restrictions and barriers in Sunni religious affairs.
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid asked the president Raisi’s administration to resolve all problems and concerns of Sunni Community of Iran as soon as possible.
