Referring to the recent protests and uprisings in Khuzestan/Iran against the water crisis, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid, the most influential Iranian Sunni leader called on the authorities to listen to the people of Khuzestan and solve their water problem. He also stressed on establishing peace and security in Afghanistan.
He talked briefly after the Eid-al-Adha prayers in Zahedan on July 21, 2021.
Emphasizing on recognition of the rights of the people of Khuzestan, the Friday Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan said: “The people of Khuzestan are Iranians, and they live in an oil-rich and water-rich province, but they are deprived of having enough water. Unfortunately, authorities have not yet been solved their water problem, while water is a basic human need”.
“The authorities had lost many opportunities to plan carefully to supply water to these areas”, he added.
“We heard the voice of the people of Khuzestan and authorities are aware of their problems; so they have to resolve this problem as soon as possible”, said the president of Darululoom Zahedan.
Addressing the officials and the people of Khuzestan, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said: “I advise the officials to listen to the cries of the people of Khuzestan and Ahvaz and solve their problems, because their demands are right. I also advise the people of Khuzestan to remain calm”.
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid continued: “I call on the president-elect to supply water to all parts of the Khuzestan province”.
“Water is the basic source of the life that cannot be neglected”, he added more.
The prominent Sunni scholar of Iran called on the president-elect Raisi to put solving the water problem in Khuzestan first.
Afghans should agree on the implementation of justice and truth
Emphasizing on establishing peace, stability and security in Afghanistan, the Iranian Sunnis’ leader said: “Peace and security will be established when different parties in Afghanistan work together and respect each other’s rights”.
“Many Afghans want establishment and implementation of Islamic laws”, he said.
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid urged: “No one should be afraid of the rules of Islamic Shari’ah”.
“The people of Afghanistan are Muslims and believe in Islam, so they want the Islamic Shari’ah”, said the Friday prayer leader of Sunnis in Zahedan.
Emphasizing on the necessity of mutual respect in Afghanistan, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said: “In order to bring peace and security in Afghanistan, all parties should agree on the implementation of justice and truth”.
“Good relationship with the world is not possible without security”, said the member of the supreme council of the Muslim World League.
He added: “Islam emphasizes on truth, justice and equality. I have said before that an Islamic state succeeds when it follows the example of the prophet and the righteous caliphs. The people of the world will be satisfied with following the instructions of the Holy Qur’an and guidance of the Holy Prophet and the righteous caliphs”.
“In tolerating others, the prophet and his companions are the best examples”, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid believed.
The president of Darululoom Zahedan stated: “I have said many times that I accept a person who listens to his opponents. If we have tolerance, it will be a mercy”.
Wishing peace for Afghanistan, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said: “We wish peace and security for the people of Afghanistan. Both sides that are killed in the war are Muslims”.
“Islam emphasizes on morality, fidelity and fulfillment of deals and agreements”, he urged.
The eminent scholar of Sistan-Balochistan said: “If the method of the prophet and the righteous caliphs are followed, all will be satisfied. The world is eager to see real Islam”.
“If the commands of Allah the Almighty and the guidance of the Prophet are carried out, this will satisfy all people of the world”, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid concluded his points.
