Eid Al-Adha is expected to start on Friday, July 31, after Saudi officials have confirmed that the moon of Dhul-Hijjah was not sighted on Monday, July 20.
The announcement was made by Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court, Gulf News reported.
The court said that Tuesday is the 30th of Dhul Qaeda, and Wednesday will mark the first of Dhul Hijjah.
`Eid Al-Adha will also start Friday, July 31, in Egypt, Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Jordan which follow the country (location) of the (Hajj) rituals, i.e. Saudi Arabia.
In India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, the Moon Sighting Committees, Hilal Committees and Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet tomorrow i.e. Tuesday, July 21, to decide on the sighting of the Dhul Hijjah moon, Latest LY reported.
Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs through the National Council for Moon Sighting has also called on Muslims in the country to look for the new moon of Dhul Hijjah from Tuesday, the 21st of July, Daily Post reported.
