Sh. Abdol-Hamid Thanked President of Puntland State of Somalia

In a letter to Abdiweli Mohammad Ali Gaas, president of Puntland State of Somalia, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid thanked him and all other people who played role in freeing 17 Iranian Baloch prisoners.
The official website of Shaikh Abdol-Hamid, Friday Imam of Sunnis in Zahedan and the most influential Iranian Sunni leader termed the release of a group of Somali prisoners from the jail of Bandar-Abbas the result of “open chest of Iranian officials” and the release of Iranian Baloch fishermen from Bosaso the result of “open-mindness of Somali officials”.
President of Darululoom Zahedan said in a part of his letter: “Your attention and respect to the request of our people about pardoning and releasing prisoners have left a positive reflection among people and well-wishers. A good image of Puntland state has been incised in the minds.”
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid alluded to his role in the release of the fishermen and said: “It was a divine grace that He made us medium and tools in releasing these prisoners. The good prays of the fishermen and their families will make us prosperous in the both worlds, God willing.”

It is notable that 17 Baloch fishermen were detained by the coastal guards of Somalia in Oct. 2017 who were sentenced to two years imprisonment and 1500$ fine. The fishermen were granted pardon and freed without any fine and sentence.
