Russian airstrike kills 10 civilians in Syria’s Idlib

At least 10 civilians, including four children and six women, were killed on Sunday in an airstrike by Russian jets in Syria’s Idlib province, the Syrian defense officials said.
“Ten people of one family were killed and another six were injured in the attack by Russian jets,” Mustapha Hac Yousuf, the head of Syria’s White Helmet civil defense forces told Anadolu Agency.
Yousuf said napalm bombs, filled with a chemical that sticks to the skin and causes severe burns, were used during the strikes.
“The bodies had burnt completely,” he added.
The wounded had been taken to the regional health centers, while rescue work continues, Yousuf added.
Idlib, which is located in northwestern Syria on the Turkish border, faced intense attacks by the Assad regime after a vicious civil war broke out in 2011.
Since, March 2015, Idlib was no longer under the control of the Assad regime and was dominated by armed opposition groups and anti-regime armed organizations.
On Oct. 12, the Turkish military started to cross into the region to establish observation points to monitor the cease-fire regime in the Idlib de-escalation zone.
