‘We must be Unified for Interests of Islam, Muslims’

Terming ‘unity’ the vital need of Muslim Ummah, the outstanding Iranian Sunni leader said on Friday 25th Dec. 2015 that Muslims should have unity and fraternity for the interests of Islam and all Muslims.
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid, the Friday Imam and Khateeb of Zahedan, southeastern Iran alluded to the Unity Week in Iran and said, “The role of prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, in unifying was pivotal. When he was dispatched as a prophet, the Arab Peninsula was full of disputes and differences. Some of the Arab tribes had fought with each other for 120 years.”
“But the beloved prophet ended their fights and bloodshed making them brothers and unified. Allah Almighty says in the Noble Qur’an in this regard: وَاذْكُرُوا نِعْمَتَ اللَّـهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ كُنتُمْ أَعْدَاءً فَأَلَّفَ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِكُمْ فَأَصْبَحْتُم بِنِعْمَتِهِ إِخْوَانًا وَكُنتُمْ عَلَىٰ شَفَا حُفْرَةٍ مِّنَ النَّارِ فَأَنقَذَكُم مِّنْهَا; (And remember God’s blessings upon you; how you were enemies, and He reconciled your hearts, and by His grace you became brethren. And you were on the brink of a pit of fire, and He saved you from it.) [3: 103] People were on the edge of a pit of fire in beliefs and deeds, but Allah saved them,” he added more.
The rector of Darululoom Zahedan further said, “Nowadays the Muslim world suffers from disputes and domestic wars. Muslims have been at risk and their countries are the arena for their enemies. The enemies of Muslims see their interests in differences and divisions of Muslims.”
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid termed ‘unity’ the vital need of Muslim Ummah and said, “Muslims need unity and fraternity; it is very important and vital for them. Today the US and Russia along with other powers have been unified for the sake of their interests. They form unions despite their differences. Muslims should be unified and brothers for the interests of Islam and their own benefits and advantages.”
“Civilized, educated and sane nations have unity with each other, but ignorant and uncivilized nations fight with each other,” he underlined.
The chairman of the Islamic Fiqh Academy of Ahl-us-Sunnah in Iran pointed out, “We must avoid from any kind of disputes and disunion. Sunnis should stop and prevent their fanatic and extremist elements, as well as Shia brothers should stop their extremists, too. It is necessary because the forestalling of insane people or the agents of enemies is important. There must be resistance before extremists, sagacity and sobriety must rule on the society and problems should be resolved through legal channels and dialogue,” Shaikh Abdol-Hamid concluded his points about the unity of Muslims.

In the first part of his sermon, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid pointed out to some features and characteristics of the beloved prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and said, “The Last Messenger of Allah was dispatched to complete the beliefs’ goodness as well as practical, outward and inward virtues. He completed moral projects.”
“The Almighty has introduced the beloved prophet, peace be upon him, the owner of a great moral. The Noble Qur’an was practically in his life. The prophet Muhammad, peace & prayers be upon him, acted upon all commands of the Qur’an and endured difficulties in this way,” he pointed out.
At the end of his speech, the Friday Imam of Sunnis in Zahedan underlined, “Sunnah is on the path of nature fully. By acting upon the Sunnahs and directions of the prophet, the love of Allah and people would be achieved. We should seek what Sunnah says about all aspects of life.”
