Iran: A Prominent Sunni Scholar Freed

Zahedan: Mawlana Fathi-Muhammad Naqshbandi, a prominent Iranian Sunni scholar has been released after more than 3 years of detention.
According to reports of “SunniOnline”, Shaikh Naqshbandi was detained along with some of his close relatives including his son 3 years ago.
The Iranian security agencies alleged he was behind assassination of a pro-state cleric in Raask city.
The agencies could not prove their allegations and finally he was released on the bail of 5 billion Tooman .
Mawlana Naqshbandi is the Friday Imam of Sunnis in Raask city of Sarbaz district in Sistan-Baluchistan and rector of Miftah-ul-Uloom seminary in the same town.
