Iran: A Turkmen Sunni Scholar Passes Away

Ayat-Mohammad Akhund Dawoudi, an eminent Turkmen Sunni scholar passed away on Tuesday, 25 Nov. 2014.

 

According to a report of ‘SunniOnline’, late Akhund Dawoudi was 70. He was a teacher at Rabbania Islamic seminary in Chinarli and member of Ahnaf Fiqh Academy of Turkmen-Sahra.
He was one of the well-known scholars of his region, in Sunni dominated province of Golestan. Shaikh Ayat-Mohammad was the famous student of IbrahimAkhund Daghistani and his younger brother Abdolqader Daghistani. A part from teaching, he was Friday Imam of Chinarli city.
A huge number of citizens including scholars and students of seminaries took part in his funeral ceremony inside Rabbania School in Chinarli. Mawlana Mohammad Hussein Gorgij also took part in the funeral prayers.
