Shaikh-ul-Islam: Muslim World Needs a New Strategy

The outstanding Iranian Sunni leader, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid Isma’eelzahi, has urged on the Muslim leaders to reviews their ongoing stances as the current circumstances of the Muslim world show that it needs a new strategy.

In a part of his speech on Friday 4th July, 2014, he stated, “It is regrettable, the Muslim society suffers from many crises; violence, extremism and abnormalities have affected us. On the other hand, Islam and Islamic teachings have been spreading over the European and non-Muslim states as thousands of people embrace Islam for years. Thus the enemies of Islam have been conspiring to stop Islam and control Islamic activities by civil wars among Muslims.”

Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan made it clear ‘intensification of ethnic, sectarian and tribal clashes’ was one of the plans of the enemies to divide Muslims and rule on them. The same is taking place in Iraq; the current situation of Iraq has made all Muslims worried. The important country of Iraq is prone to division. It is possible some other Muslim states would face similar changes in future.

Addressing the Iraqi nation, the member of the International Union for Muslim Scholars said, “I would like to request Iraqi scholars, intellectuals and all Iraqis to protect unity of Iraq; they should impede division of their country. Division of Iraq would make it a weak country. So, all Iraqi sects and ethnic groups are recommended to sit together and save their country by constituting a unity government.”

“Muslims must tolerate each other. Fighting and killing each other cannot be a good solution; we can get our due honor and prosperity by dialogue not violence. It is a big misfortune that different sects, ethnic communities and tendencies cannot tolerate each other. I believe civilized and advanced individuals and nations can show tolerance; those who cannot tolerate other people, they do not have civilization,” he added more.

Mawlana Abdol-Hamid further said, “As extremism damages the Muslim world, in the same way, narrow-mindness and depriving others from their due rights damage the Muslim world. There are many people in the region as well as inside the country who do not recognize any right for their rivals. I think both of these two groups damage the country. Nobody should be deprived of his right just because he is a Sunni or Shia and Arab or Kurd.”

Calling on the Muslim rulers, the rector of Darululoom Zahedan pointed out, “I would like to request Muslim heads, scholars, Ulama and intellectuals from my small tribune to change and review their strategy; each condition has its own strategy and stance. I do not see any solution for the ongoing crises of the Muslim world but by dialogue, tolerance and constitution of unity and comprehensive governments.”
