According to the reporter of “SunniOnline”, the Iranian hostages have been released after continuous efforts made by prominent religious and tribal elders under the supervision of Islamic Sunni scholar, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid, without any tribute.
The outlawed armed group, Jaish al-Adl, claimed responsibility of abducting five Iranian border guards on Feb. 8, 2014. The spokesman of the group told news agencies they released four of the guards to respect the appeal of tribal and religious elders. One of the hostages was shot dead two weeks ago.
Talking to “SunniOnline”, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid urged the hostages had been freed only in respect of the Noble Qur’an and people. [Full text of our interview with Shaikh Abdol-Hamid in this regard will be published soon.]
