None of Human Powers Can Stop Muslims’ Awakening

The prominent Iranian Sunni scholar has urged “none of human powers can stop Muslims’ awakening movement” in a meeting held inside the Grand Makki Masjid on Monday evening, 10t Feb. 2014, about the 35th anniversary of the revolution in Iran.

Talking to hundreds of citizens including the provincial and city governors, mayor of Zahedan, members of city council and other officials, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid Isma’eelzahi termed the uprising of the Arab nations in the Middle East a struggle to “retain human dignity” and to “take part in their fate”.

After reciting the noble Qur’anic verse: «يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ اذْكُرُواْ نِعْمَتَ اللّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ هَمَّ قَوْمٌ أَن يَبْسُطُواْ إِلَيْكُمْ أَيْدِيَهُمْ فَكَفَّ أَيْدِيَهُمْ عَنكُمْ وَاتَّقُواْ اللّهَ وَعَلَى اللّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ» [مائده: 11], (O you who believe, remember Allah’s favour upon you, when some people planned to lay their hands on you, and He kept their hands away from you. Fear Allah; and in Allah the believers should place their trust.) Khateeb of Sunnis said, “By a brief study of the Islamic history, we can understand Muslims have experienced many ups and downs in different times. The first years of Islam when the prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and his companions, may Allah be pleased with them, were alive, the world saw a brilliant and peerless era. There was no such golden time before them, there has not been such a time and there will not be such a proudable era until the last day in future too.”

He mentioned the occupation of al-Quds the starting point of Muslims’ decadence, saying, “According to my knowledge, whenever Muslims forgot their duties and suffered from negligence, they lost Bait-ul-Maqdes. Today Bait-ul-Maqdes is occupied by sinister and dogmatic Zionists because Muslims have left their duties and identity.”

Reminding the bad memories of Muslims’ downs during the collapse of Turkish Othman empire and occupation of many Muslims regions by the British and Soviet colonials, he termed “the love of the worldly means” and “suffering from negligence and temptations of the inner self” the most important reasons of Muslims’ decadency.

Khateeb and Friday Imam of Sunnis in Zahedan, southeastern Iran, alluded to the “struggle of Muslims to retake their lost identity” and said, “The Islamic revolution took place in Iran was the first spark for Muslims’ vigilance and uprisings in the recent years. The revolt against the regime of Shah was succeeded by the support of all Iranian sects, ethnic groups and of course the permission of Allah.”

“Muslims in many states began to make efforts for getting back their due dignity and respect, and civil rights; they were inspired to get rid of tyrant and dependent rulers. Despite massive state suppression and cruelty, the vigilant brave nations are not ready to step back. I previse the ongoing Islamic awakening movement will not end up with failure. I think, God willing, no human power can stop Muslims in this process,” he further said.

The outstanding Sunni leader counted “unity” the secret of the revolution’s survival. He said, “The secret of survival is in our unity; unified nations are respectable. I do not see any advantage for the country in clashes among sects and political wings. We accept only temperance; none of parties should go to extremes. The Sunnah teaches us to respect all; the last messenger and his companions behaved with Salman, Bilal and Sohayb like their own brothers. They were from Iran, Rome (Italy) and Habashah (Ethiopia).”

At the end of his speech, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid addressed the armed groups to end their ‘childish’ acts and neglect the instigations of others. He asked them to take the advantage of the new government and new political environment coming on the table of dialogue instead of violent acts. The best way to convey complaints and problems is dialogue and negotiation.
