Iran: ‘SunniOnline Balochi’ Launched

IRAN – ZAHEDAN: The administration of the official website of the Sunni Community in Iran added “Balochi” language to the language bar of the website.

The Balochi section of “SunniOnline” was unveiled by the rector of Darululoom Zahedan, the largest Islamic seminary of Sunnis in Iran, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid, on Sunday 5th Jan. 2014 in the office of the website. Some senior teachers and professors of Darululoom took part in the inaugural session too.

Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid, congratulated the staff of SunniOnline and thanked the team for launching Balochi section. He said, “The Almighty sent His prophets to different nations who used to speak in their languages. Now, we also should not forget our nation.”

He asked the staff of SunniOnline to convey the message of Allah and Islamic teachings to the Baloch nation through this tool.

Mufti Muhammad Qasem Qasemi, a senior professor at Darululoom Zahedan, termed different languages and dialects the best sources for communication. He said this is an applaudable effort that would connect the Baloch people of different countries.

The Assistant of Shaikh-ul-Islam, Mawlana Abdol-Ghani Badri, also appreciated the move and suggested the editors to take the help of Balochi synonyms to make the words understandable for people of all corners of Balochistan.

It is noteworthy ‘SunniOnline’ switched in Farsi, then in Arabic, English and Urdu languages. Currently ‘SunniOnline’ is the only independent web portal of the Iranian Sunnis covering five languages.
