Ms. Asma Cheshmeh-Kaboudi is one of the ‘followers of Maktab-e-Qur’an Movement’ and student of Mathematical (Analysis) in PhD level in the Kurdistan University. The university administration informed her that she had been forbidden to complete her doctorate in the university, namely by the order of the Intelligence Ministry.
It is notable that after conclusion of the first term of exams (13 Feb.), she was officially informed about her expulsion.
She has been charged of distributing statements to protest and highlight some issues like ‘abolition of Sunni physician doctors’ degrees’, ‘civil and religious violence against Sunnis in Kurdistan’ and ‘continuous crackdown on Iran’s Sunnis’.
Ms. Cheshmeh-Kaboudi lives in Sanandaj, provincial capital of Kurdistan of Iran. She works as a math teacher in Kamyaran city’s high school. Apart from teaching, this intelligent Sunni student succeeded to get MA in math as an “excellent student” with best marks.
It should be mentioned; previously some other Sunni teachers of middle and high schools were banned from teaching as some doctors lost their degrees and certificates with similar charges.
