Iran: Sunni students banned from education

Iran, Sanandaj- The intelligence authorities have put three Sunni female students of medical universities under the ban who were specializing in Sanandaj and Hamadan.

“SunniOnline” has quoted HRA news agency that three Kurdish Sunni students had been banned to continue their studies due to their soft corner for a charismatic Sunni leader, Kaak Ahmad Muftizadeh.

Furthermore, the management of the medical universities of Hamadan and Sanandaj, western Iran, refused to hand over the GP certificates of the bereft female students.

In response to repeated complaints of the students, the management of the universities informed them that the national security officials and the Intelligence Ministry had strongly forbidden the Sunni students to get further education.

The names of the deprived physicians as following:

1.    Dr. Sarweh Haydari; resident of the last year of the Gynecology & Obstetrics Faculty of Kurdistan Medical University. She had dedicated her specialization thesis to “Kaak Ahmad Muftizadeh”, as the officials of the university put her name under the ban list immediately forbidding her to participate in the final exam.

2.    Dr. Leila Borna; student of the Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Medical College of Hamadan city. She can not hold even her General Practice certificate; thus, Miss Borna is unable to get specialization in any subject. According to the college management her “thesis for general practice has been disapproved by security officials”.

3.    Dr. Somayeh Hushyari; resident of specialization in pediatrician in the Medical University of Kurdistan. She passed the exam for admission of specialization and attended the classes; the management forbad her reasoning that “the security officials denied her thesis”!

Lately, following the pressure of the intelligence authorities of the Iranian Kurdistan, the educational department banned more than 17 Sunni school and college teachers in different cities of the province.
