‘Execution of Justice Bonds Constant Peace in the World’

Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdul Hameed, Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunna in Zahedan, began his latest Friday speech by the recitation of holy verse: «إِنَّ اللّهَ يَأْمُرُ بِالْعَدْلِ وَالإِحْسَانِ وَإِيتَاء ذِي الْقُرْبَى وَيَنْهَى عَنِ الْفَحْشَاء وَالْمُنكَرِ وَالْبَغْيِ يَعِظُكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ» [توبه: 90] and talked about causes of insecurity and importance of justice in both personal and social lives.

Pointing out towards the gathering of world’s leaders in general assembly of the UN in New York, he urged that by enforcement of justice the world can enjoy an abiding security and peaceful time.

Shaikh Abdul Hameed pointed that mostly people assume that whenever the word “A’dl” or justice comes in the Qur’an and Sunnah, they address only rulers; however, these great divine sources address everyone, men and women with any sort of position in the society. Justice must be applied in personal and social life.

Talking to tens of thousand worshipers in the grand Makki mosque, Shaikh added more that justice is one of the Allah Almighty’s important orders, A’dil (fair & impartial) is one of His names. There are many verses in holy Qur’an about justice; we can see the words ‘A’dl’ and ‘Meezan’ (weigher) in this great book in different places.

“Shirk” is the biggest injustice

The prominent Islamic scholar went on explaining the recited verse, ‘Justice has three types; “mankind’s’ justice to Allah” is the first and most important sort of justice. Everyone must recognize Allah’s rights. Tawheed (oneness) of Exalted Allah is the right of Him, neither He has partner nor He needs partner or assistant.’

He emphasized that “Shirk” (polytheism) and making partner for Allah Almighty is the biggest injustice. It is contrary to justice and sobriety in beliefs of any person. “Mushrik” (polytheist) never can be a fair person. S/he may realize justice with other people but not with his/her creator.

Counting the parts of justice, khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunna said more that “paying attention to self” and “considering others’ rights” are second and third kinds of justice. It means everybody must not do any work which may carry out the curse of people and Allah. Besides, a person should give others’ rights as well like family members and rounding people. Avoidance from gossip, backbiting and to deprive others from their rights are very important parts of third kind of justice. Islam ensures rights of everyone and thing, even rights of animals.

Injustice; root cause of crises over the world

Continuing his sermon, Shaikh Abdul Hameed pointed out towards the ongoing uprisings and changes in some Muslim countries and said, ‘Rulers are the very first and important addressees of the Qur’an and Sunnah when they mention justice. Holy Qur’an orders all rulers and holders of power to abstain from injustice and oppression. Just due to “injustice” the whole world suffers from many crises particularly in peace and security affairs.’

‘Occupation of Palestine is the biggest oppression and injustice around the world in a time powerful states claim to be civilized and democratic! Big powers use their power to destabilize more weak and oppressed nations. The UN and its branches for human rights do not support Palestinians. That is why the world suffers from insecurity which is the fruit of injustice,’ Shaikh further said.

The eminent Sunni leader addressed power holders around the world saying, ‘Implement justice and listen to oppressed people, this is our message to all rulers who may receive it. Invasion, occupation of countries, killing and hanging of masses never can bring constant security and peace.’

Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunna gave the example of the Soviet Union saying, ‘The Soviet Union rulers delimited their oppressed nation, they deescalated communication sources to hold people unaware of what had happened over the world; despite it the union was cut into pieces. This is the end of all dictators.’

Shaikh pointed that fruits of oppression and cruelty are bitterer than “Shirk”; Kuffar receive punishment in the next world, mostly, they have peaceful lives. But cruel people receive punishment in this life; you can see the admonitory end of cruel and oppressive rulers and common persons regardless to their religion.
