Iran: Eminent Sunni scholar passes away

KURDISTAN: The prominent Kurdish Sunni scholar Mamousta Mullah Muhammad Azizi passed away on Sunday, 16th January in Kurdistan, Iran. He was 80.
He was laid to rest on late Monday, 17 January 2011 in his ancestral area, Baneh, Kurdistan of Iran. A large number of people including ulama and students of seminaries attended the funeral prayers.

Shaikh Muhammad Azizi was born in 1930 in “Bardarash” village of popular city “Baneh”, Kurdistan, western Iran. His father Mullah Abdul Qader Samaqani was an eminent Islamic scholar of the region. He was struggling to provide his children Islamic education and train them in light of the excellent teachings of Islam.
After graduation, Shaikh Muhammad Azizi began his sincere services in Baneh by teaching, writing books and essays in Persian and Kurdish as well as confronting superstitions, innovations and anti Islamic traditions.
He left the mortal world to the immortal world on 16-01-2011 after six decades cultural and religious services. He had been ill for a long time.

May Allah almighty mercy on him and place him in heaven with Shuhada, Saliheen and prophets. Ameen.
