‘Successful preaching conditioned with good deed & humbleness’

Expressing the significance of Muezzin and the importance of calling to Allah almighty, Imam and Khateeb of the Sunni community in Zahidan after recitation of the Quranic verse: “وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ قَوْلًا مِمَّنْ دَعَا إِلَى اللَّهِ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا وَقَالَ إِنَّنِي مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ. وَلَا تَسْتَوِي الْحَسَنَةُ وَلَا السَّيِّئَةُ ادْفَعْ بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ فَإِذَا الَّذِي بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَهُ عَدَاوَةٌ كَأَنَّهُ وَلِيٌّ حَمِيمٌ  وَمَا يُلَقَّاهَا إِلَّا الَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا وَمَا يُلَقَّاهَا إِلَّا ذُو حَظٍّ عَظِيمٍ”
(And who is better in speech than he who invites to Allah, and does righteous deeds, and says: “I am one of the Muslims.” The good deed and the evil deed cannot be equal. Repel (the evil) with one which is better, then verily he, between whom and you there was enmity, (will become) as though he was a close friend.). But none is granted it except those who are patient — and none is granted it except the owner of the great portion in this world.) said, “The verse means that no one is better in speech than who invites to Allah, but this great task is conditioned with some important things, I will explain it today, this verse has been revealed to describe the superiority of Muezzin (the one who calls Muslims for prayers), but this verse is not restricted to only Muezzin rather it has included every one who invites people towards Allah almighty.”

How does Muezzin call the people to Allah almighty?

‘First of all Muezzin praises Allah almighty, as he says “الله أكبر” (Allah is the greatest), then he repeats twice witnessing that Allah almighty is the only one, He does not have any other partner, then he repeats twice witnessing that the Holy prophet Mohammad صلی اللہ علیه وسلم is the last apostle and messenger of Allah almighty, then he invites the public to offer the great obligatory of prayers which is exactly hundred percent the way to succeed in both the places this world and the Hereafter in the court of Allah almighty. The same method of calling towards Allah almighty must be followed by every one who wants to do it, thus this immense invitation teaches us a great lesson that the beginning of Da’wah as well its end must be on the witnessing that Allah almighty is the only God, He does not have any other partner,’ Shaikh added.

The conditions of calling to Allah almighty:

Pointing towards the conditions of a successful preaching, the eminent Sunni scholar further said that Allah almighty says: “وعمل صالحا” it means a preacher should act righteous deeds, he himself should follow which he says, so it benefits him as well as others. He is not one of those who enjoin good but do not do it themselves, thus his calling would be very impressive, Allah almighty says in other verse: “أتامرون الناس بالبر وتنسون أنفسكم وأنتم تتلون الكتاب أفلا تعقلون (Enjoin you Al-Birr (piety and righteousness and each and every act of obedience to Allâh) on the people and you forget (to practice it) yourselves, while you recite the Scripture [the Taurât (Torah)]! Have you then no sense?).
Shaikh Abdul Hameed explained the second vow for a preacher saying, “The preacher must be a meek person and account him or herself a part of the Muslim community, as Qur’an says: “وَقَالَ إِنَّنِى مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِين”, (and says: I am one of the Muslims).” He more added that the main reason of spreading out of sins in the Muslim societies is avoiding from da’wah and preaching. First of all it is the duty of Islamic scholars to remind their brothers and sisters the benefits of good deeds and the danger of sins, on the second number it is obligation of every Muslim to spread out the message of Allah almighty among the people, certainly all the evils such as gambling, stealing, adultery, usury, not offering prayers, not paying Zakat etc are existing because of reminding no one the good deeds and encouraging non of his community to leave the bad ways, nowadays the preaching of Islamic scholars has become limited to the sermons of Friday and Eid days, in fact it is a huge concern for us, it is very necessary to do this great job always and every where, because committing sins affects not only the person who does it, but it also damages the complete society and fetches the anger ness of Allah almighty; often due to it the God punishment come on the entire Muslim community.
Shaikh declared the calling to Allah almighty the main obligation of Muslim Ummah and further said, “There is no prophet to come after the holy prophet Mohammad صلی اللہ علیه وسلم, thus this great duty is assigned to every Muslim to think how to reform the bad condition of his family, street and the society he lives in, while preaching he has to do this holy task with Hikmah (by understanding the condition of person as well as the occasion), a preacher must be soft and call him self first then others to ask forgiveness from Allah almighty.”  

Shia community While doing their religious ceremonies should not insult the sanctities of Sunnis

Respected Shaikh Abdul Hameed called the Shia community to realize the sacred signs of Sunni community while they observe their religious activities.
Talking to tens of thousands in Makki mosque of Zahedan, the prominent scholar said, “There are some festivals which are considered very important among the Shia community, such occasions do not have any importance among the other Islamic communities all over the world, like they observe such functions in the 18th Zul-Hijja on the occasion of “Ghadeer-e-Khum” event; so it is important just for them not for other Islamic communities.”
Shaikh added more that Shia Muslims should observe their religious activities and their signs, but they must realize the signs of Sunni community, they should respect the mothers of entire believers, the wives of holy prophet صلی اللہ علیه وسلم are the mothers of the believers, as well as they must respect all the prophet’s companions رضی اللہ عنهم اجمعین and they should realize their duty to keep themselves away from saying bad things about this scared company رضی اللہ عنهم اجمعین; because their respect is the main sign of Ahl-us-Sunna wal Jamaa’h.
Imam of the Sunnis asked the responsible persons of both communities Shiite and Sunnis to respect the scared things of each other.
