After recitation the initial verses of Sourat-ul-Fa
jar, Imam and khateeb of Sunnis talked to the audience about the significance of sacrifice day (Eid-ul-Adhha) and the importance of first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah and said, “Allah almighty has taken the oath by four things as Allah says: “By the dawn, And by the ten nights, And by the even and the odd, And by the night when it departs”, it has been reported from many Mufassireen (interpreters) that Al-Fajr refers to the day of Sacrifice, morning in particular, and the ten nights refers to the (first) ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.
Shaikh said more that it is Allah’s blessings that he did not restrict the virtues of the days of Dhul-Hajjah to those only who perform Haj, rather all of us have been gifted a lot of things to get more and more rewards, as there are two Islamic festivals: Eid ul Adha (the day of sacrifice) and Eid ul Fitr, undoubtedly both the occasions are celebrated with the great Islamic zeal, enthusiasm and with the intention of helping poor people, as the wealthy persons are ordered before going to offer Eid prayers, they have to pay their Sadaqt ul Fitr to the deserves, in the same way the believers should slay animals and forget non of their poor Muslim brothers and sisters.
Shaikh continued saying that the first ten days of Dhul-Hajjah are extremely sacred and good deeds are most beloved to Allah in these ten days, as God almighty took oath by ten nights of Dhul-Hajjah and non of the nights are superior to ten nights of Dhul-Hajjah except the nights of Ramadan, as the Prophet صلی اللہ علیه وسلم says: “No good deeds done on other days are superior to those done on these (first ten days of Dhal Hajja).” Then some companions of the Prophet asked: “Not even Jihad?” He replied: “Not even Jihad”, except that of a man who does it by putting himself and his property in danger (for Allah’s sake) and does not return with any of those things.”
The prominent Sunni scholar added more that these ten days are a great opportunity for us to get much rewards, as well as to ask forgiveness from God almighty, certainly the intelligent persons never waste such valuable opportunities; rather they try their level best to get the willing of Allah.
Shaikh asked the people to recite the holy Quraan more and more, in the same way every body should remember Allah almighty, definitely after doing such deeds we can be saved from the planning of Satan.
Mawlana Abdul Hameed said more that these days are to pray to God in, and to remember God much and more, as Allah almighty says:”أذكروا الله في أيام معدودات” (do remember your God in particular days).
Then respected Shaikh Abdul Hameed pointed out some actions of the sacrifice day: to say the Takbiraat-e-Tashriq starting from the 9th of Dhul-ul-Hajjah’s fajr prayers until Asr prayers of 13th Dhul-Hijja, it is wajib (necessary), every man and woman has to read it after the five obligatory prayers, go to Musallah in early time to perform Eid prayers, it is Sunna to wear new cloth or at least the cleaned ones, but the main important action of this day is slaughtering animals (doing sacrifice) as the holy prophet صلی اللہ علیه وسلم says: “during the days of Qurbani, Allah almighty does not like any act more than slaying. In the days of slaying, the act of sacrificing surpasses all other acts of piety. At the time of sacrificing the animal, this noble act is accepted by Allah almighty before the blood of the animal reaches the ground, therefore, slay animal happily and open-heartedly.” In the same way our holy prophet (PBUH) says that a person who does sacrifice, will come at the dooms day along with the horns of sacrificed animal, with the hears of its, and with its hoof. Allah almighty says: “Allah Ta’laa does not need blood of animals nor meat from animals. All that He requires from His slaves is the Taqwa, obedience and the feelings of self sacrifice for their Lord”.
At the end of his speech, Shaikh Abdul Hameed indicated towards the expansion project of Makki mosque and called the people to take part in the plan by spending money and providing their services for it, as the act of sacrifice demands from us. He urged that they have to extend the mosque and this project is their extreme need. People must not face any problem while worshiping Almighty Allah.
