Recently Taliban militants who have vowed to overthrow the Afghan government and evict NATO-led forces from the war-torn country have intensified their activities.
Taliban-linked activities also left two security guards of a construction company dead in the eastern Khost province and injured three others on Wednesday.
Furthermore, Taliban-led militants injured at least 10 civilians in the eastern Nangarhar province and damaged two vehicles belonging to NATO-led forces in the northern Kunduz province again on Wednesday.
The US has recently said it is open to the removal of more Taliban militants from a UN sanction list to facilitate peace talks with the militants.
Last month Afghan officials said the US and US-led forces have provided security for Taliban leaders to enter Kabul for peace talks.
The US and its allies have more than 150,000 troops stationed in Afghanistan.
However, the US and NATO forces have failed to bring peace to the war-afflicted country nine years after its invasion in 2001.
