‘Zidane holds Iftar feasts in Paris’

Legendary French soccer player Zinedine Zidane is reportedly holding Iftar dinners across the French capital during Islam’s holy month of Ramadan.

The 38-year-old Muslim superstar, who helped bring fame to the French national soccer squad by leading the French victory of the 1998 World Cup, has been holding Iftar dinners over the past several years, Fars news agency reported on Sunday.
The three-time world footballer of the year has been aided by Paris municipality to set up special stands for the delivery of Iftar meals, the report added.
Zidane also cooperates with other Muslim friends to hold similar feasts across other cities.
The former French captain has told a local television network that he seeks to familiarize the French with the holy month of Ramadan and Muslims’ culture.
Practicing Muslims break the Ramadan fast at sunset.
They refrain from eating and drinking from dawn until the Sun goes down over the horizon.
