MAKKAH MUKARRAMAH: Three-day conference of the Muslim World League has been started in Makka Mukarrama. The conference is being organized by the Muslim World League as part of commemoration of its 50th anniversary.
In a statement issued Friday, Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdul Mohsin Al-Turki, Secretary General of the MWL, said leading Islamic scholars and heads of Islamic groups and centers in different parts of the world have been invited to attend the three-day conference. “The MWL has become an international organization with offices in different parts of the world. It would not have achieved this stature without the Saudi government’s support,” Al-Turki said.
The conference will focus on four main topics: MWL’s contributions in the past 50 years; MWL’s position in the world; MWL and Islamic issues; and MWL’s efforts to establish a better future for Muslim communities.
Shaikh Abdul Hameed IsmaeelZahi, the great Sunni leader and the head of Darululoom Zahedan University and Ayatollah Taskhiri, the chairman of the World Council for Muslims Unity have been invited from Iran. But due to abroad travel ban on Shaikh Abdul Hameed he could not participate the MWL conference.
