{"id":3360,"date":"2014-02-03T07:19:17","date_gmt":"2014-02-03T07:19:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/wp3\/?p=3360"},"modified":"2014-02-03T07:19:17","modified_gmt":"2014-02-03T07:19:17","slug":"61-morsi-supporters-al-jazeera-cameraman-acquitted","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/sunnionline.us\/english\/2014\/02\/03\/3360\/","title":{"rendered":"61 Morsi supporters, Al Jazeera cameraman acquitted"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/stories\/news3\/egypt-court.jpg\" border=\"0\" style=\"float: right; margin: 5px;\" \/>A Cairo court acquitted Sunday 61 backers of ousted president Mohamed Morsi and Al Jazeera cameraman Mohamed Badr, who were tried on charges of staging riot acts in central Cairo&#8217;s Ramses Square last July, a judicial source said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>  <!--more-->  <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The verdict, still appealable, was reached on grounds of insufficient evidence, according to the source.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The acquitted will be discharged from prison even if prosecutors appeal the case, the source noted.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">For his part, head of East Cairo prosecution Wael Hussein told Anadolu Agency that the prosecution will file an appeal against the verdict within two weeks.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The defendants had been detained since last July pending trial.
