<\/strong>According to a report from the office of the Sunni Friday Imam of Zahedan, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid stated that some people recently inferred from my silence regarding the war in the country that perhaps I am satisfied with this war, whereas this is completely wrong. No wise person is happy with war, the killing of humans, sabotage, and the destruction of their country’s infrastructure. War brings losses and pushes countries backward. I said a week before the start of the war, in light of the meaning of a Hadith, that neither the government nor the people should desire war. In the twelve-day war, all people, both supporters and opponents, came to the field and provided support. I was on the Hajj pilgrimage at that time and sent a message of condemnation from there, but the tragic events of January made the people very angry.
He added: The reason for my silence was that unfortunately, well-meaning words are not listened to in our country. I was and am angry and unhappy that the suggestions and criticisms of sympathizers and well-wishers were not paid attention to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/strong>Mawlana Abdol-Hamid emphasized that it is my firm belief that if attention had been paid to the well-meaning words of sympathizers and public consent had been obtained, neither the bitter events of January (crackdown on the protesters) would have occurred nor would this war have ever broken out. The things and criticisms I present are based on sympathy, and I have said many times that if my word on any subject is wrong, convince me; Alhamdulillah, I have the courage and bravery that if I make a mistake, I will correct it.
He added: I emphasized many times not to use violence against protesters but rather sit with them, listen to them, and bring changes according to the interests and demands of the people. I do not want any post or office for myself, but I speak for the rights of the people and consider it my responsibility and duty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/strong>\u201cI have always emphasized stopping the war and said that the best way to avoid war is to surrender to public demands. If you take the people along with you, no power will dare to look at our country with an evil eye, but if you rely only on weapons and war equipment, it is possible that others have more modern weapons than you,\u201d the Imam of Friday prayers in Zahedan clarified.
He emphasized that weapons and war equipment are not the greatest strength, but the greatest strength in any state, system, and society is the people and their support. For any society and country, there is no greater capital than Allah and the people. Allah Almighty addresses the Holy Prophet (PBUH), saying: “O Prophet! Allah is sufficient for you and those of the believers who followed you.” (Surah Al-Anfal: 64).
Mawlana further added: Keep Allah through piety and keep the people with you by taking care of their rights and valuing them.
He further added that public support and consent must be obtained in every country and society. The former Soviet Union, which was once a super power in the world, despite all resources and capabilities, got stuck in a political and economic dead end during the occupation of Afghanistan and the Afghan Jihad. The people of the Soviet Union became hungry and dissatisfaction arose there, resulting in its defeat in Afghanistan. These are events from which a lesson should be learned that all governments in the world should listen to their nations and pay attention to their demands so that the nation can be satisfied. One characteristic of successful governments is that they create ease for the people in every field and try to obtain their consent. They strive to obtain their consent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/strong>Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said in the next part of his speech that the countries that have entered this war, although they claim to have come to support the Iranian people, the reality is that they are pursuing their own interests. But we think about the interests of Iran and the Iranian nation.
He added: I have shouted many times in the past that the country is suffering from difficulties in political and economic fields. The economy is stuck in a dead end and you should bring moderation to domestic and foreign policies. We said to correct your foreign policies so that the path of war can be blocked and no threat remains against the country, and also bring changes to your domestic policies so that political freedoms, freedom of speech, and likewise justice, women’s rights, and the rights of all ethnicities, sects, and religions can be respected. For 47 years, women and various linguistic and sectarian communities have been raising their voices for their rights and seeking justice and equality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/strong>The prominent religious scholar of Iran made it clear: Even now, I still believe that the best, fastest, and cheapest way to stop the war and solve the country’s problems is for you to create flexibility in your positions and views, listen to the people, and surrender to their demands. If the people come to the field, the war will stop and all other problems will also be resolved.
He added that my goal is nothing but well-wishing and sympathy. We hope that Allah Almighty will write a bright future for the country and the Iranian people, the internal differences of the nation will end, and conditions will be created in Iran where no one will go after war, extremism, and misplaced emotionalism, but instead, everyone will think about using wisdom and gaining public consent. Taking advantage of management, consultation, public opinion, and interaction and understanding with the world and the people is very necessary and important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
