Blasphemy, Act of Uncivilized People

Referring to the approach of the month of Muharram and the beginning of mourning days of Shia, while emphasizing on preserving the sanctities of religions and sects, the most influential Iranian Sunni leader emphasized all on adherence to international agreements that respect religious freedoms.

Talking to the people of Zahedan, capital of Iranian Baluchistan in the Friday gathering on July 29, 2022, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said: “The security of mourning ceremonies of the Shiite brothers should be maintained during the month of Muharram all over the world.”
The Friday prayer leader of Sunnis in Zahedan continued: “Throughout history, evil and vile people have committed terrible crimes; they shed the blood of righteous personalities such as Caliph Ali, Othman and Umar. The Caliph Ali was martyred in the Holy month of Ramadan, Othman martyred in the month of Dhul-Hijjah, and Caliph Umar was martyred at the end of Dhul-Hijjah and in the first of Muharram in the Mihrab of Masjid an-Nabi.”
Referring to the martyrdom of Caliph Hussain on the 10th of Muharram, president of Darululoom Zahedan said: “Some Muslims committed a heinous crime during Muharram and martyred a great man like Imam Hussain, who was the grandson of the holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and the son of Sayyidana Ali and Fatima, may Allah be pleased with them.”
“The Households of the holy prophet PBUH especially Caliph Ali and Caliph Hussein, belong to all Muslims and free people of the world. Loving Ahlul-Bayt is one of the commonalities of all Muslims. The uprising of Caliph Hussain is an example for all Muslims and free people of the world,” said the Iranian Sunnis’ leader in the presence of tens of thousands of worshippers in Zahedan’s Grand Musalla.
He emphasized: “We believe that all people in the world should have religious freedom. Interfering in people’s religious matters is a big mistake; it does not matter whether they are Shia or Sunni. All must adhere to the international agreement signed by all countries,” said the Friday Khateeb of Zahedan.
“Let our Shia brothers, who believe in holding mourning processions in the month of Muharram, hold their ceremonies freely and safely according to their beliefs”, he added more.
“I emphasize all Islamic religions and sects to respect each other’s sanctities, do not let anyone insult the beliefs of other sects and religions. Attacking the beliefs of others is a big mistake. The holy Qur’an forbids us from insulting the false gods of others and says that if you insult the false gods of others, they will blaspheme Allah”, said the Friday Imam of the Grand Makki Mosque of Zahedan.
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid further said: “The sanctity of all religions and sects must be respected. Blasphemous acts can only be committed by ignorant and uncultured people. Insulting is not allowed in any religion or belief.”
In another part of his Friday speech of Zahedan, the eminent Iranian Sunni leader alluded to the recent torrential heavy rains that led to widespread flooding in Iranian Baluchistan, saying: “We should be thankful to Allah Almighty practically and with our tongues for sending down rain for us, the rain that made the springs flow and filled the dams.”
He said: “Of course, these rains caused some damage. With the cooperation of both the government organs and the people, flood victims should receive special attentions and the damages should be compensated.”
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid added: “We hope that these rains will solve the water shortage concerns in Sistan- Baluchistan and Zahedan.”

Loving two holy sites is a part of faith
Explaining the virtue and position of Haramain Sharifain, Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, and Masjid al-Haram, in Islam, the most outstanding Iranian Sunni scholar considered the love of these two sacred places as a part of Iman/the faith and beliefs of all Muslims.
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid recommended and emphasized the pilgrims to persevere in faith, honesty, piety and obedience to Allah Almighty, and leave sins and unlawful acts that they did before, believing that these were the signs of the acceptance of Hajj before Allah Almighty.
The Friday prayer leader of Sunnis in Zahedan said: “As the scene of the Friday prayer ceremony looks so bright today due to presence of newly returned pilgrims, what could be the scene of the holy land of revelation of the holy Qur’an, the land of Allah that His close and beloved servants have been worshipping there?! Today the pilgrims have brought the fragrance of Ka’bah and Madinah with them to this land.”
“Loving the Two Holy Mosques is an integral part of the faith of all Muslims. Medina is the place of the divine revelation. The holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, lived there and was buried there after his departure from this mortal world. Makkah is also the city of Allah and the place of Hajj; Hajj is the main pillar of Islam. Everyone wishes to go on Hajj and see Baitullah, Makkah, Madinah, and other sacred places,” said the president of Darululoom Zahedan while addressing the people of Zahedan.
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid added: “Pilgrims have repented in Makkah, Madinah and Arafat desert, so they should persevere in their repentance to get Allah’s satisfaction. One of the signs of acceptance of Hajj is that the pilgrim’s life changes for the better. He\she leaves sins and forbidden acts, prays in congregation and the sign of piety appears in his\her life.” “The land of Haramain Sharifain became so sacred through these deeds. Piety makes a person close and beloved to Allah Almighty and brings him closer to Holy prophet PBUH. All Prophets and righteous people have earned this position from obedience and submission to Allah and sincerity,” he believed.
Concluding his points in this part of his Friday speech, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said: “In order to persevere in the religion, in piety, repentance, in the night prayer and other good deeds, the pilgrims should ask Allah Almighty for help to guide them.”
