British Muslim Walks from London to Makkah for Hajj

A British-Iraqi Muslim who set out for hajj from England on foot has arrived Makkah this week, joining thousands of pilgrims from all over the world.
Adam Muhammed started his journey from Wolverhampton, where he lives, on August 1, 2021.
After 10 months, videos showing him in Makkah have been trending on social media as he reached his destination on Sunday, The Peninsula Qatar reported.
Pushing a cart weighing up to 250 kg and outfitted with speakers playing Islamic recitations, Mohamed said he is spreading messages of love, peace and equality.

Peace Journey
The 52-year-old’s mission called the “Peace Journey” prompted him to walk through many countries in Europe, Turkey, Lebanon, and Jordan before he entered Saudi Arabia.
The self-employed electrical engineer met dozens of people along the way. A father and son duo flew from The Netherlands to Turkey to help him for seven days.
Upon arrival in Makkah, the Muslim traveler said, “hajj is my most precious wish,” expressing his thanks to the people of Saudi Arabia who have showered him with their generosity.
Muslim pilgrimage or hajj is a lifetime journey that many aspire to.
Mohammed is not the first person to walk to Mecca from the United Kingdom. British man Farid Feyadi also set off on a similar journey from London in 2020 to debunk misconceptions in the Western media about Islam.
There have been other similar adventures, especially with regard to performing hajj.
Earlier this month, young Indonesian Muhammad Fauzan’s journey to Makkah took more than seven and a half months, riding his bike for nearly 5000 kilometers.
Fauzan kicked off his journey from Magelang, Central Java, on Nov. 4, 2021. He performed Umrah after reaching Makkah three weeks ago.
