Shaikh Ab. Hamid Urges on Reopening Girls’ High Schools in Afghanistan

In a letter to the leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, the most influential Iranian Sunni leader suggested Mullah Hebatullah Akhondzada to “take urgent measures” to reopen girls’ high schools as soon as possible in Afghanistan.
Believing that men and women are emphasized to get education and they have equal rights in learning science according to Islam, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid called on the leadership of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to take urgent measures in order to reopen girls’ high schools.
“In the current era, education is vital for both men and women; -as you know well – Islam has given this right to everyone equally and insisted on it”, the president of Darululoom Zahedan noted.
The Friday prayer leader of Sunnis in Zahedan pointed to the consequences of the continued closure of girls’ schools in Afghanistan and stressed the need to resolve the issue quickly.
“The reopening of girls’ high schools is in the interest of both the nation and government of Afghanistan and generally it is in accordance with the interests of Islam,” Shaikh Abdol-Hamid stated.
