One week after a suicide attack on a Shiite mosque in Kunduz of Afghanistan, a Shiite mosque in Kandahar was attacked by suicide attackers. Decrying the attack, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid recommended the Afghan officials to give more importance to the security of Shia worship places.
In his statement re, the most outstanding Sunni leader of Iran denounced the attack and expressed his sympathy with families of the victims by saying: “The terrorist attack on the ‘Fatemiyah Mosque’ in Qandahar, which targeted a group of Shiite worshippers during Friday prayers, was brutal and a huge crime”.
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid continued: “I condemn this inhuman act. I expect the new Afghan government to care more about the security of the Shiite brothers in Afghanistan, in order to hold their religious ceremonies in their mosques and religious centers”.
“I hope that by being sensitive to this issue, the sinister conspiracies against the nascent Islamic system in order to create division, discord and insecurity will be thwarted”, said the president of Darululoom Zahedan.
