Prominent Hadith Teacher of Darululoom Zahedan Passes away

Shaikh-ul-Hadith Mawlana Abdur-Rahman Mohebbi, a prominent professor of Hadith at Darululoom Zahedan, passed away in a hospital of Zahedan, Iran after suffering from a long illness.
He died on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. He was 80.

Mawlana Mohebbi was born in 1941 in “Kallagan” town of Saravan county, Sistan-Balochistan province of Iran. After completing his primary education in Saravan, Shaikh Mohebbi left Iran to Pakistan to continue his studies. In Pakistan, he benefited from great scholars in Karachi, Panjgur, Tidi, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan and Rahimyarkhan.

Some of his prominent teachers in Pakistan are: Mawlana Ghulamullah Khan, Mawlana Sayyed Mohammad Yousuf Banuri, Shaikh Mousa Khan Rouhani, Shaikh Abdul-Ghani Jajrawi, Shaikh Abdullah Darkhwasti, Shaikh Saleemullah Khan and Mufti Mahmood, May Allah bless them.

Shaikh Mohebbi attended Mawlana Ghulamullah Khan’s Tafsir course for four times. He also met Mawlana Hammadullah Halijwi and benefited from him as a mureed.

He benefited from Mawlana Ahmad Ali Lahori, Mawlana Abul-Hassan Ali Nadvi and other personalities. He graduated from Jamia Islamia Banuri town/Karachi.

In 1964, Shaikh-ul-Hadith Mawlana Mohebbi returned Home. In Iran, he spent ten years in different cities, including Iranshahr and Gosht and then he moved to Zahedan.
In Zahedan, Shaikh-ul-Hadith taught at Darululoom Zahedan for forty years. In Darululoom Zahedan, he was known as Shaikh-ul-Hadith and he used to teach Sahih al-Bukhari, vol. 2.

For many years, Mawlana Mohebbi presented Islamic discourses and answered religious questions of the people in Baluchi language on Radio Zahedan.
His funeral prayer was offered by Shaikh Abdol-Hameed, the most influential Iranian Sunni leader, in the grand Musalla of Zahedan.

Before his funeral prayer, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hameed, Mufti Mohammad Qasem Qasemi and Shaikh Abdol-Samad Kareemzaei talked and expressed their concerns on the passing of this great personality.
Thousands of people attended his funeral ceremony.

Ulama from different cities of Iranian Balochistan attended the ceremony.
