Mass Disqualification of Candidates Decreases Voter Turnout

Criticizing the mass disqualification of candidates for the local council elections all over the country, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid, the most influential Iranian Sunni leader warned of negative consequences of such disqualifications.
Addressing tens of thousands of Sunni Muslims in Zahedan’s Friday gathering on May 7, 2021, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said: “Unfortunately, the local council candidates were widely rejected in the country”.
“In the election of the 11th term of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, a great number of candidates were purged”, said the Friday prayer leader of Sunnis in Zahedan.
“In the past, there was a sort of tolerance in approving the candidates for local council elections”, he added.
President of Darululoom Zahedan further stressed: “Mass disqualification of candidates is not in the interest of the country at all; it causes concerns among the people and lead to lesser turnout in the election.”
The Friday Imam of Zahedan pointed out: “It’s necessary to reconsider the approval of the candidates and change the policies”.
“A ruler can be a mercy to the nation when he takes care of all groups, when he is not limited to one particular faction”, said the prominent Sunni scholar of Iran.
“A ruler should have a broad vision and follow God; it is the method of Allah that He sees all the servants – regardless to their faith and thoughts- and puts everyone under the shadow of His mercy”, the eminent Sunni scholar of Sistan-Baluchistan said.
‘Deviation from the divine path causes damages’, he urged.

Economic problems are the result of ignorance to advice of well-wishers
Referring to the devaluation of the country’s currency, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said: “Unfortunately, the value of the country’s currency has been falling; this decline is the result of the wrong domestic and foreign policies.”
He added: “Unfortunately, in reviewing the domestic and foreign policies of the country, advice of the well-wishers of the country were not taken into consideration.”
“Therefore, the economic problems that have become a crisis in the country are one of the results of this negligence”, Imam of the Grand Makki Mosque of Zahedan said.
