Shaikh Ab. Hamid Calls for Fair & Accurate Investigation in Saravan’s Shooting Incident

The most outstanding Iranian Sunni leader alluded to the shooting incident at fuel traders in Iran-Pakistan border near Saravan, southeastern part of Iranian Baluchistan, and called for fair, impartial and accurate investigation of the incident.
He was talking to tens of thousands worshipers in Zahedan on February 26, 2021.
While advising the people (of Sistan-Baluchistan) to remain calm and peaceful, the Iranian Sunnis leader stressed on fair investigation into the incident. He also insisted on legal punishment for the perpetrators behind the shooting which left many wounded and killed.
Friday prayer leader of Sunnis in Zahedan continued: “The tragedy took place at the Saravan border created some security problems in Sistan-Baluchestan. I would like to talk to both officials and to the people about this issue.”
“The officials should investigate the Saravan incident impartially and fairly; the officers who made mistakes should be punished according to the law”, the president of Darululoom Zahedan urged.

“As Just an ordinary person is punished for a crime, an official should also be punished for a crime”, he further said.
“Everyone must be accountable to the law; the president, governors, and other officials must obey the law and serve the people according to the law. People must also pursue their rights through the law”, said the prominent Iranian Sunni scholar.
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid further said: “I call on the people to keep calm and control their emotions and not to be provoked by the opponents, in order to maintain security”.
He added: “We have said that we follow this issue through the law, some have objected: which law? There is no law in this province to pursue. But we hope and expect the judicial authorities and other officials to enforce the law in this case, to bring comfort to the people. The implementation of justice and the impartial judgement will strengthen security and maintain fraternity”.

Accepting mistakes and apologizing is a sign of courage
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid considered ‘accepting mistake’ and ‘apology’ a sign of courage and said: “Accepting a mistake and not hiding the truth and facts is a sign of courage, so let us admit our mistake and apologize to those whose rights have been lost; the one who apologizes for his mistake, becomes popular among the people”.
“I tell all those who make mistakes to apologize always. This solves many problems and consoles them. Apology is a common tradition in the world”, he said.

Border should be used for the employment of poor people
In another part of his speech, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid stressed on planning for job creation at the borders and said: “Borders are important potentials. Our country has a wide border with some Arab countries in the southeast by sea and it shares borders with Afghanistan and Pakistan by land. Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan have mutual needs which can be fulfilled by these borders”.
He emphasized on the necessity of exchanging goods at borders and said: “Exchange of goods at borders is one of the most important ways of living and employing for people.”
“We demand that the border should not be limited to those who live near the trading points, but all should take benefits of the borders. It can be a source of creating jobs for all poor and needy people behind the border”, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said.
“Exchanging goods and fuel across the borders is an opportunity to by-pass the imposed sanctions on the country. The officials are also satisfied to sale the fuel across the land borders”, said Imam of the Grand Makki Mosque of Zahedan.
“The local fuel traders are somehow serving the country and governments in by-passing the sanctions”, he added more.
At the end of his speech, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid called on the worshipers to give their donations to the Mohsenin Charity Trust to transfer the aids to the earthquake-hit region of Sisakht in the western province of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad.
