Reform Efforts, Islamic & Moral Duty of Muslims

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid considered the reform activities in society as an Islamic and moral duty of a Muslim and insisted on cooperating with the people and helping them in hard times.

Addressing Sunni Muslims before the Friday prayers in Zahedan on November 13, 2020, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid stated: “A Muslim plays an Islamic role in reforming the society. There is no monasticism in Islam. A Muslim should interact with other people”.

The Friday prayer leader of Sunnis in Zahedan explained solidarity and sympathy with people as the duty of every human being and said: “We should not be indifferent to what is happening in society; we must strive hard to solve the problems of the society. Cooperation and sympathy with others must be our first duty”.

President of Darululoom Zahedan urged: “We should help those who are in trouble or have no income. We must cooperate with our neighbors, relatives and with the oppressed and needy people”.

“Sometimes God solves a big problem and crisis by a simple guy”, he added.

“We should not be indifferent to the problems of the society such as sins, disobedience to God and negligence”, said the most outstanding Sunni scholar of Iran.

Negligence causes anger of Allah
Friday prayer Imam of Zahedan continued his speech by saying: “If people asked Allah for forgiveness, the torment of Coronavirus would has been removed by Allah the Almighty. We ask Allah to remove this infection by His mercy. In such a situation, we should ask Allah for forgiveness and return to Him; if rulers, nations, scholars and different classes of the society repented and fulfilled the rights of God and the rights of the people, God would have removed this punishment”.

The most influential Sunni leader in Iran urged: “Unfortunately, people don’t repent and they don’t seek forgiveness, Muslims don’t practice the rules of Islam in their lives as they should do”.

He went on to say: “We must repent to Allah and fulfill our duty and mission, change our lives and reform the society, we should do what is good and forbid what is evil, otherwise Allah will not accept our prays.”

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said: “It is stated in the noble Hadith: If a person commits a sin in a community and they have the ability to forbid him from sin, but they do not forbid him, Allah will soon send down a general punishment on them”.

Shooting innocent people is the sign of negligence
In another part of his speech, Friday Imam of Zahedan said: “Unfortunately, murder and bloodshed have increased today.”
Referring to the murder of man and his little boy, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said: “We were shocked and saddened that a father was shot along with his one-year-old child.”

“It’s the sign of atrocity and inclemency as some people take out weapon when they get angry and shoot people indiscriminately,” president of Darululoom Zahedan said.

At the end, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid advised and emphasized on observing health protocols, using face masks, refraining from holding mourning and wedding ceremonies, observing social distances and washing hands.
