Islam, a Pragmatic Religion

Mawlana Abdol-Ghani Badri termed Islam a pragmatic religion and Rasoulullah, peace be upon him, a practical example urging on imitation of the prophetic advice about health and cleaning.
SunniOnline reported, talking to thousands of worshipers in Zahedan on Friday 16th Oct. 2020, the vice-Friday Imam of Sunnis of Zahedan said: “All divine religions have been revealed to be practiced, but apart from Islam the teachings of other religions have been restricted to some festivals and annual ceremonies.”
“After three centuries, Christians began to observe his birth anniversary naming it “Christmas Day”, now there is no any ritual in Christianity but this festival and few other ceremonies. But Islam is the religion of action and it has directions for all aspects of life. The last prophet, Muhammad PBUH, is also a pragmatic example before us,” he added more.
The senior Hadith teacher of Darululoom Zahedan said: “Allah the Almighty dispatched the prophets along with the divine books to be practical examples and roles. The beloved prophet Muhammad PBUH emphasized on “holding fast the Qur’an and Sunnah” in his last advice to the Ummah. Our today’s problems have roots in being away from these two great wealth.”
He further said that Islam had directions for all classes of society anywhere and anytime.
“There are prophetic directions in the health issues and about the possible diseases; if Muslims act upon them, they will be saved from many infections and lesions. When people used to drain water from wells by leather bottles and the Europe was unware of the name of health, Islam and the prophet Muhammad PBUH called cleanness half of faith and urged on washing body, cleaning mouth and teeth and other kinds of cleanness,” Shaikh Badri pointed out.
He added more: “Once the prophet PBUH said that if using siwak was not difficult, I would term it essential. In his last moments of life when speaking was difficult for him, he demanded siwak and used it. Some Ulama counted 70 advantages for using siwak the least is cleanness of the mouth and teeth and the biggest one is death on the faith.”
Concluding the first part of his speech, Mawlana Badri urged on washing hands, using face mask and taking care of social distance and all health protocols for protection from the COVID-19 virus.
In another part of his speech, the senior teacher of Darululoom Zahedan called on people to donate blood as there is shortage of blood in Sistan-Balochistan.
He said: “Benefiting others is a teaching of Islam. Donating blood in these critical days is a great donation as it saves lives of people.”

Fair distribution of budgets reduces shortcomings
Referring to the visit of Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf, Speaker of the national parliament of Iran, to Sistan & Baluchestan, Shaikh Abdol-Ghani Badri expressed hope that the visit of the speaker would help to reduce deprivations in Sistan-Baluchistan.
He said: “We express hope that the visit of the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly to Sistan-Baluchistan will be beneficial for the people of this province. The province of Sistan-Baluchistan has been facing problems for so many years, such as poverty, unemployment, education and so on that the officials are aware of them.”
“The fact is that many problems can’t be understood until they are observed. The recent flood incident in southern Balochistan caused some officials to visit these areas of this province. Observing the problems closely, many provincial and national officials acknowledged that there are incredible problems in Sistan-Baluchistan,” Mawlana Badri pointed out.
The vice-Friday Imam of Sunnis in Zahedan noted: “Unfortunately, some areas of Sistan-Baluchistan are deprived from basic necessities of a common life. Officials have always promised to solve problems, but unfortunately many problems have not been solved yet”.
“The parliament plays an important role in allocating budgets; I hope that the budgets will be distributed fairly among all Iranians. A significant budget must be allocated to Sistan-Baluchistan to solve the problems,” Shaikh Abdol-Ghani Badri further emphasized.
He added: “We expect that officials will pay especial attentions to the people of Sistan-Baluchistan as other Iranians, because they belong to this land and want to serve their country. Sistan-Baluchistan has high capacities and good opportunities for jobs and boosting economy and standards of life.”
“To eliminate deprivations, agricultural lands, borders and the sea are among best opportunities.”
At the end, Shaikh Badri emphasized: “To remove problems, authorities should pay special attention to Sistan-Baluchistan as other provinces.”
