Shaikh Abdol-Hamid Demands Narges Mohammadi’s “Sick Leave”

In a letter to Ayatollah Ibrahim Raisi, the Chief Justice of Iran, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid referred to Narges Mohammadi’s medical situation in Zanjan prison and called for her “sick leave”.

In this letter, quoting the advice of the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him, in the sermon of Hajjatul-Wida’ to have mercy on women and behave them well, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid noted: “Islamic mercy requires that she should be given “sick leave.”

Referring to the orders of the Qur’an and Sunnah to reduce and give mitigation to all patients, the Iranian Sunnis leader urged: “We request that all COVID 19’s patients who are suffering from the most heinous plague of the time and they are in prison to be given urgent leave.”

Narges Mohammadi is a human rights activist who is reportedly ill with COVID-19 in the prison of Zanjan city.
